-Comment: Elias-Lanoo Kassner and Joel Eisenblätter (pictured) in white sailor suits and hats. Blue collars with 2 stripes. Later also in blue sailor suits (pic below, I assume short ones as well). This is the latest film featuring sailor suits. In theaters since yesterday and broadcasted on September 29th and part 2 on 30th (in 2 weeks) on German TV channel ARD. I have just seen it in the news by coincidence. Plot is the life story of Austrian singer Udo Jürgens. I understood that the scenes pictured showing the sequence of his granddad Heinrich (aged here ~42). Kassner played Erwin Bockelmann (* 1903 in Moscow, uncle of Udo) and 12 or 13 yo Eisenblätter as young Rudi (dad of Udo). Also starring Christian Berkel, Ulrich Noethen (older Rudi), David Rott (as Udo in his 30s, *1934), Alexander Kalodikis (Udo as 10 yo) and others.
First setting in the film is at 1891 in Bremen before travelling to Russia. Rating 7 for now.
Update: Now I've seen both parts. Only 2 or 3 short but good scenes of the sailor suits. Also funny how they walk over a fountain to reach a table in a restaurant and one boy pushes the hat of his brother into his face. But I am disappointed about this first part. Besides the few sailor suit scenes (which I had expected) I didn't like the many Russian scenes. Might be belong to the biography, but has it all to be shown like that and in that amount? Quite boring and could be better. Also the costumes and other props don't look authentic to me. And why only 2 of 5 kids in sailor suits? 2 other short scenes of the kids (2 in short pants, one older boy in long pants) and the rest I don't remember (but are younger). Also one boy shown in bed in a white nightshirt.
Rating downgrade from 7 to 5 for part 1.
Update 2: I made a separate entry for part 2. That features no sailor suits, but very good Lederhosen scenes of some boys (rating 7/10).
Part 2 is much better, for more infos see that entry
