Jockei Monika

Family series, 9 episodes
-Year: 1981
-Year in film: 1980s ?
-Country: East Germany
-Who in clothing: boy ~6, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: boy shorts, teen girl overalls?
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating:  4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: At least a very young boy, about 6 yo (pictured on left with the striped shirt) in black smooth finish or most likely nappa Lederhosen with suspenders. Also an older boy in I think dark blue tight cotton shorts (next to him), maybe in brown buckskin Lederhosen as well (without suspenders) and I believe the main character (teen girl Monika) in medium blue bib overalls (soon on my other blog). Scene pictured at about 30 minutes of ep. 1. Some quite handsome boys ~11 yo with longer blond hair and others partly in shorter tight jeans.

Thanks Guillaume for this and the other suggestions. Typical and quite good East German series, but the boy is very young and obviously only some few good scenes. What do you mean with "first part only". Episode 1 or DVD 1 or else? Are there any older boy actors in Lederhosen or other good scenes? Can you confirm bib overalls of the girl?

I don't had the time to check the complete series, but as I said the boy is very young.

So rating 3-4 for now only. A trailer on YouTube, but nothing of interest. Available on DVD 9 ep. à 55 minutes.

Hände hoch oder ich schieße

DEFA comedy film
-Year: 1966
-Year in film: 1960s ?
-Country: East Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~10-11 ys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low
-Rating:  6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: At least  2 boys in short and tight Lederhosen. (I don't remember their names). At least one appears to be smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen or much patina. I noticed only some few and rather short scenes. Pics at 20 and 50 minutes. There's also at least one sailor in a bar (shown briefly from behind only, so no need for tagging this).

Maybe a quite good detective film, banned and lost for more than 40 years in the former East Germany.

I like smooth finish Lederhosen and probably most will like this movie, but I'm not sure. And it's also b&w. I don't know all the actors, most famous (also in West Germany) are comedians Eberhard Cohrs and Hans Joachim Preil. Also starring Rolf Herricht ("Geschichten übern Gartenzaun")

So rating 6 for now but I have to check this again more carefully at slow speed.

Heidi (1968)

1968 version starring Jennifer Edwards and Maximilian Schell
-Year: 1968
-Year in film: 1880s ?
-Country: USA, Germany
-Who in clothing: Heidi ~ 11 ys, Klara, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2: Peter longer pants, granddad Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low *
-Rating:  5/10 *
-Rating: *****
-Comment: I think Jennifer Edwards as Heidi in a (long) white/light blue striped sailor dress, white collar, 2 stripes (I think later in the movie) and goat-herd Peter (played by John Moulder-Brown) in long dark pants with H-style leather suspenders. Not sure if Lederhosen but most likely cotton fabric. Klara in the wheelchair in a medium blue sailor dress, collar with a white edge.

Sorry, I first saw a pic of Peter in medium brown, a bit shorter pants with suspenders, but they are not H-style suspenders. That must be from the 1965 version.

I thought of Heidi and Peter before, but haven't found Peter in real Lederhosen (just granddad). H-Style suspenders are obviously also very rare. I also have seen Heidi und Peter (1955) some time ago but also no real Lederhosen. The 1993 Disney version starring handsome Ben Brazier as Peter is also very good, but no Lederhosen either.

I also have Heidi (1937), rating 4 with 13 yo Klara in a sailor dress.

This 1968 version (aka Heidi kehrt heim) is proabably also very famous in the US because of an interruption of a live airing of an American Football game. Sadly, I don't remember the complete movie and have to check this again later.

The sailor dress is also very good, but probably very short scenes. I also haven't seen the her collar flap.

Rating 5 for now.

Krempoli – Ein Platz für wilde Kinder

Kids’ series, 10 episodes
-Year: 1975
-Year in film: 1974
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Thomas 11, boys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: shorts, overalls
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes
-Clothing occurrence: often
-Rating: 7/10
-Rating: *******
-Comment: Handsome blond Thomas in grey buckskin Lederhosen with H-style suspenders (pictured, also wet scenes) also in longer brown Lederhosen. (Also boys and girls in overalls, see my other blog, rating 7 as well). Also other clothing but mostly longer pants of the 70s and also shirtless scenes. Wolfgang in yellow shorts.

Good and interesting famous German series of the 70s. For more informations see my other blog.

But as I said before, I don't like the 70s. The Lederhosen and the actor are quite good, but I prefer Heimatfilms and shorter haircuts and/or smooth finish Lederhosen.

Rating 6-7 for now, but I have to check the complete series again. Pic from episode 10 but probably this boy in all episodes. Completely on YouTube or DVD. The Intro has no actors at all.

Update: Pic below from ep 4, Often this boys longer Lederhosen appear darker.

Update 2: I now have bought this. Also other boys in short Lederhosen. links fixed

/2016/02/02/update-2-krempoli/

Previously rated 6-7, now rating 7-8.

/2016/02/09/update-3-krempoli/

Update 1 has one more pic (ep 1) missing same as for update 3.

Update Sept 2023: One other pic of Thomas on my other blog (update 5 there)

Story 52: Exclusive photo #22 sailor suit boy 1930s beach

One blond boy, probably German in a short white sailor suit and other kids, looks like siblings sitting on a beach. 1930s. It looks very cold. One boy in a cord suit and woman (mother or aunt or even grandmother?) in full clothing including hat. Only one shirtless boy with wet hair freezing. Drinking from bottles with a straw. Was daddy taking this pic? Typical and good sailor collar. And they are looking happy. I wonder why the others didn't wear sailor suits.

Die Vorstadtkrokodile (1977)

Kids' film, Golden Camera
-Year: 1977
-Year in film: 1970s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Frank ~12 ys (?), Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: shorts
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: often ?
-Rating: 7/10
-Rating: *******
-Comment: At least one member of the gang (of 10-13 year olds) I think Heiner Beeker (pictured), maybe 12 or 13 yo in dark brown short and tight smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen, 2 zippers, no suspenders but worn with a belt. One other in similar tight shorts, but I don't know if Lederhosen or cotton fabric, maybe dark blue cotton shorts.

Probably one of the most famous German kids' adventure movies of the 70s. There is also a modern version and a sequel, but I think I haven't seen those yet but I don't assume Lederhosen in there.

Famous novel by Max von der Grün, also starring Martin Semmelrogge, Wolfgang Sieling, Marie-Luise Marjan and Eberhard Feik.

Probably most of the readers will like this. I prefer Heimatfilms and Lederhosen with suspenders. And I also hate the 70s (also included here other clothing like flared jeans and typical colors yellow and brown). One boy is even played by a girl. Een a peeing scene with him/her. However quite exciting family film. And finally released on DVD. Good atmosphere, tree house, etc. I wonder how could I miss this movie.

Rating 6-7 for Lederhosen scenes. But I wouldn't buy it and wait for the next TV broadcasting.

Poslednyaya vstrecha (1974)

Soviet drama
-Year: 1974
-Year in film: 1940s ?
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing: boy ~ 9 yo, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: very low ?
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: I only noticed one rather short scene of a young boy in a white sailor suit in a b&w flashback scene, probably during WWII. The movie itself is in color. However I don't remember good scenes of either the collar flap or the full length suit. But I only checked some parts at high speed, so it's possible that I missed something.

Russian title "Последняя встреча", English title The Last Meeting. Directed by Boris Buneyev.

I can't say much more about it and I also can't understand Russian. I think there are much better movies.

Rating 3 for now. I haven't found the 1974 version on YouTube.

Info 119: New stats

[caption id="attachment_3049" align="alignnone" width="268"] Top 5 (sailor suits) August[/caption]

New TOP 5 stats pics. The overall stats are exactly the same as last month. Some new entries on the sailor suit section (Woman in Black and Laurin). Also many many hits (also on picasa) for the "First Class" boy (Info 72, pictured below) more than 2200 hits which is twice as much as exclusive #4 (boys backside). I wonder why. Maybe because it's still on my last page of my old blog.

I also still have more than 2000 hits on my old (Lederhosen) blog last month. On wordpress I have more than 4600. Most famous search term (alltime) is heimatfilme, then of course combination with Lederhosen, but now also many for sailor suits.

Nothing more interesting on Ludwig auf Freiersfüßen. 90 % are flashbacks of the previous movies. And not even the best scenes I had there.

Info 118: Update/mistake Wenn die Glocken hell erklingen

Sorry I made a mistake. All the previous 3 pics of this movie were wrong and must be from "Der schönste Tag meines Lebens (1957)" (now rating 9 instead of 7).

I now have seen this complete movie and hope for a soon broadcasting of the other one (to make sure, that's not from a different 3rd one, but that's very unlikely).

I swear that I have also seen the wrong pics on other websites and I still wonder why I had labeled my VHS tape wrongly as well. Both movies showing the Vienna Boys Choir / Wiener Sängerknaben and Michael Ande (pic 2).

/2011/08/15/wenn-die-glocken-hell-erklingen/

/2011/08/31/der-schonste-tag-meines-lebens-1957/

And separate entries linked there.

Still rating (7-)8.

Sorry for the mistake. The pics here are from "Wenn die Glocken hell erklingen".

Polizeiruf 110: Im Alter von ...

Crime series, 330+ ep. in 41+ seasons, still running
-Year: 1971-
-Year in film: 1974
-Country: DDR / Germany
-Who in clothing:Ben ~11 ys (?), Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: shorts
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low ?
-Rating: 7/10
-Rating: *******
-Comment: At least one boy, maybe 11 yo Ben (the other boy is called Till, not sure who is who) in tight maybe buckskin Lederhosen, 2 zippers, without suspenders (also in a yellow shirt) and another one in shorts (pictured). Also shirtless/undressing scenes at a lake. Episode 3.20. I'm not completely sure of the fabric of the Lederhosen. Maybe with patina and maybe even smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen (on other episodes).

Looks very interesting. Banned in the GDR because of the plot (of a gay murderer) and reconstructed in 2011. Currently completely on YouTube but I don't have the time to watch it completely at slow speed. I assume rather few (good scenes).

I can't say much more, for another (b&w) episode (rating 5) and more infos see

/2012/08/03/polizeiruf-110-ein-bisschen-alibi/

If someone knows some more good episodes, please comment. I also have an entry on my other blog with a woman in bib overalls (rating 2).

I have to check this again completely and hope for a soon broadcasting of this and other episodes. The modern episodes are most likely not as interesting as the old East German ones.

Rating 7-8 for now. I will make a main series entry soon.

Info 117: On TV week 34 2012

Today "Grün ist die Heide" (a kid, I think a boy, unsure if Lederhosen (no))

and

Thursday "Wenn die Glocken hell erklingen" starring Michael Ande (rating 8,  also Lederhosen, pic below is from a different movie)

Friday "Das sündige Dorf" on 3sat (pictured on top, rating 7) and

Luwig auf Freiersfüßen (see Info 88, unknown rating yet, maybe a combination of earlier films, up to rating 8)

Kolja

Drama aka Kolya, 1 Oscar
-Year: 1996
-Year in film: 1989
-Country: CZ, UK, F
-Who in clothing: Kolja 5 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating: 2/10 ?
-Rating: **
-Comment: At least Andrei Chalimon in full length medium brown buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (pictured). Is there any other actor in Lederhosen ? Also probably some other "interesting scenes" like a bathtub scene.

Someone suggested this movie (PG-13). Thanks very much. Of course I add it here. I still haven't checked the complete movie. Might be an interesting movie, but the boy is very young and I prefer older actors and shorter Lederhosen. Many Awards incl. Young Artist Award for the boy. Also starring Zdenek Sverák ("Obecná skola"/The Elementary School 1991).

Rating 2 for now (for Lederhosen scenes).

Story 51: Exclusive photo #21 sailor suit boy communion 2

Unbelievable. Nobody bought this photo for more than 1 year. My 2nd communion pic showing a very handsome freckled boy with a long dark collar. 3 stripes. So real sailor collar this time.

It looks like a real photo postcard. On the back is a stamp making a postcard of it. In both English and French language (English first). So it might be of Canadian origin. Not sure if this is an individial or mass product. I haven't seen it anywhere else. Sadly I can't say much more about it. No names and no dates.

The hair is rather long and modern and might be red.

Anything Goes (2011 musical)

Broadway musical, 2011 / 1987 version
-Year: 2011
-Year in film: 1934
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: men, women, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating: 2/10 ?
-Rating: **
-Comment: Some men and women in sailor suits/maritim clothing including Patti LuPone (pic 2, 1987 musical).

Originally I found a very interesting drawing of a woman (cover of the 2002 CD, showing the sailor collar flap). And then I found a 1956 movie starring Bing Crosby but haven't found any sailor suit scenes there yet. So I choose this 2011 musical pics taken from YouTube, from the Tony Awards (pic 1). Perhaps someone likes young sailor men or women with short skirts.

White collars and quite good.

Because of the age, rating 2 for now only. I also updated "Moritz in der Litfaßsäule". Obviously not smooth finish leather. Now rating 7 instead of 5. And now also a pic.

Info 116: Update Das einfache Mädchen

Full update of "Das einfache Mädchen" (1957) starring Stefan Haar (pictured) and Caterina Valente. Even 2 different Lederhosen and sailor suit scenes (boy/girl) and even an undressing scene. Unfortunately I missed the first 30 minutes. Entry with 4 new pics, including this one at

Rating now 4 instead of 6.

Story 50: Grapped by the suspenders

As announced this story entry, mainly about the movie "Drei weiße Birken" (pictured, also see that entry rating 6). Little Sascha Hehn is grapped by the suspenders of his Lederhosen. It's not too harsh and I think he's not teared or pulled away. But quite interesting. I though I had other movies with being grapped at the suspenders (I thought of Toni Goldwascher" but I couldn't find any other similar scenes right now. Being grapped is often kind of violent or the act of being punished afterwards if the boy made some pranks (Lausbuben). Other possibilities are to even lift up a little boy by his suspenders (older brother), or grapping the suspenders at the backside so he can't run away.

On my bib overalls blog I have 2 entries (search for "grapped"). It also reminds me of pulling at the girls pigtails (search for pulling). Grapping or pulling at the sailor collar would also be interesting, but I think I haven't anything like this yet. Even touching is quite rare. I have wrinkling (pic below from Kung Fu Kids 2, rating 9) and touching / sliding from "Le temps des secrets", rating 8, pic 3 from story 8). I think I have to recheck my entries and hope to find something more of interest. Also try (upcoming) story entries and tag spanking.

Immer die Radfahrer

Comedy film starring Heinz Erhardt
-Year: 1958
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Austria, Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~ 5+9 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: men Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low ?
-Rating: 2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: 2 short scenes of boys in Lederhosen. One older boy about 9 or 10 yo (pictured) in buckskin Lederhosen and one very young boy dancing outside with other kids. And men in Lederhosen, including overweighted Heinz Erhardt and Wolf Albach-Rettig (also cycling). No need for more pics or clips.

Also starring other famous actors like Hans-Joachim Kulenkampff (in shorts), Inge Meysel, Christiane Hörbiger.

I have seen this movie before but missed then the beginning. Usually I like comedy films and Heinz Erhardt, but I don't like this movie at all. Plot is quite interesting and good landscape scenes but rather few comedy scenes and few kids. I have some other Erhardt entries on both my blogs.

Rating 1-2 only for Lederhosen scenes and the movie.

Die große Starparade

Musical comedy film starring Gunther Philipp
-Year: 1954
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~10-16 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: costumes, shorts
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low ?
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: One boy, probably 13 yo Peter Hinnen as Peterli, looks more like a 9 or 10 yo (filmed earlier?) in dark buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (also dancing with a girl, must be 10 yo Cornelia Froboess), at least 3 quite long scenes. Also some younger and older boys in the background (watching the parade, pic 2+3) and at least one older teen boy or young men sitting in Lederhosen (last pic).

Interesting plot and unusual movie, sadly I missed some few parts at the beginning. There's one boy sitting, I think this was the boy on pic 1.

Many famous actors and singers like Peter Alexander, Hazy Osterwald, Caterina Valente, Rudolf Prack, Sonja Ziemann and Adrian Hoven. Swinging music of the 50s. Maybe a bit annoying but also quite funny. Would be much better in color. Aka "Grosse Star-Parade".  I missed the scene from the YouTube vid. And I saw a pic of a school scene, maybe even much more better there. I will check this again later. Not yet available on DVD/VHS.

Rating 4-5+.

Do svidaniya leto (1982)

Short film /kids/ musical (sorry wrong title)
-Year: 1982
-Year in film: 1980
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing:  girls, boys, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low *
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment:At least the pictured (teen) girl at the piano and some boys and probably some more girls in sailor suits/sailor dresses. Also a boy dancing in shorts and maritim clothing. Also partly sailor hats and red soviet scarves.

I think only few good sailor suit scenes. But these are quite good. Also other interesting clothing.

Russian title "До свидания, лето!" what means Goodbye Summer. 35 minutes. Not to be confused with the 1978 BBC series. I haven't found an entry on IMDb and no clips on YouTube. Kids are not so young and long sailor collar flaps.

Rating 5.

Update. Sorry. This is the movie Passazhir s 'Ekvatora' (rating 7) full feature film. 1970, filmed 1968. Also good shorts and speedo scenes.

Drei weiße Birken

Heimatfilm starring Sascha Hehn
-Year: 1961
-Year in film: 1960
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing:  Pepperl ~6 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: other (teen) boys, men, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: medium
-Rating: 6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: 6 or 7 yo Sascha Hehn (even much younger looking, pictured on top) in buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders and Tyrolean hat (some longer scenes). Some other boys (younger and older, in buckskin Lederhosen with and without suspenders, pics 2+3) therof two barefeet (one longer scene, I think right at the beginning) and a teen boy or young man in Lederhosen without suspenders (brief scene). Also of course other (older) men in buckskin Lederhosen also dancing Schuhplattler including Watschnplattler and alpine competitions. Some more boys in Lederhosen but nothing more of interest.

One good scene with Sascha Hehn being grapped/tearing by the suspenders (I will make a separate story entry of that later). For another better movie with a bit older Hehn, see Das Mädel aus dem Böhmerwald.

Good Heimatfilm with some music and some action; but more romance and comedy than dramatic scenes. Hehn is very young here and I prefer the other supporting actors.

Also starring Beppo Brem, Gunnar Möller, Gus Backus and Erika Remberg. Available on VHS only. No clips found.

Many Heimatfilms had been aired yesterday, especially a theme day on 3sat. Coming soon: "Immer die Radfahrer" and "Die große Starparade".

Rating 6.

Saison in Salzburg (1961)

Heimatfilm /comedy starring Peter Alexander
-Year: 1962
-Year in film: 1960s
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: boy ~9 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: Only one brief scene of a boy, maybe 8 or 9 yo in the background (pictured) I think in the second half of the movie. There is one older teen boy or young man cycling in this scene, but he is driving fast, so I can't say if shorts or Lederhosen. Also few men in Lederhosen, including Peter Alexander in longer black buckskin Lederhosen.

The movie itself is not so bad and quite funny, also starring Waltraud Haas, Gunther Philipp, Gunnar Möller and  Oskar Sima. But it's more a typical comedy film of that time and there are a lot better movies. Mainly interesting for Peter Alexander fans.

Based on the operetta by Kurt Feltz and there are are movies of the same title, which I also have to check. I think not available on either DVD or VHS.

For the few Lederhosen scenes rating 2 only.

Story 49: Exclusive photo#20 French communion boy

My first communion pic. A white collar but no real stripes than usual sailor collars. But quite interesting. Also note the white ribbon. Reminds me of the movie "Das weiße Band"(rating 3). The boy is handsome (unlike most other similar communion boys) and is freckled. But much better communion pics coming soon. Also with striped collars and even much more handsome. I think less than half of the French communion boys these days wore real sailor collars. And most pics I wouldn't buy.

Photographer L. Morvan in Toul. I first thought that it's Toulose, but there is also a city called Toulon and Toul. The name of the boy was obviously Jean Babel (written on verso of this real photo postcard). Can't say the exact date. 1900s or 1910s.

My last exclusive pic one week ago almost had 500 hits yet.

Info 115: On TV week 33/2012

Also Monday Wetterleuchten um Maria (rating 3).

Tuesday: (SWR) Der tolle Bomberg. 19th century. Probably also a boy, but unknown if good scenes. Maybe sailor suits. Maybe background only. Probably women.

Friday August 17th: (3sat) Das einfache Mädchen (rating 6) 9yo Peter Haar ("Das Donkosakenlied") in Lederhosen. Entry, but no pics yet.

Some more Heimatfilms and comedy films, but none known with younger actors.

Kindermädchen für Papa gesucht (Germany 1957). The boy pictured is Peter Fischer as Heinerle. A comedy film starring Gunther Philipp. Rating 7 for now. I still have to check it completely and make an ordinary entry. Obviously no DVD nor VHS release.

Hubertusjagd (1959)

Heimatfilm starring Sascha Hehn
-Year: 1959
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Peterle ~5 yo, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: older boys, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: VHS only ?
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Some boys, including 4 or 5 yo Sascha Hehn (pictured as Peterle, "Das Mädel aus dem Böhmerwald" (1965, rating 8)) in longer buckskin Lederhosen, some with suspenders). Very few scenes, in fact only this rather short fighting scene. Also Hehn (I think) and at least one older boy ~12 yo in good jeans near horses.

Also starring Willy Fritsch, Angelika Meissner (Immenhof series, Witwer mit 5 Töchtern) and Wolf-Albach Retty. The Heimatfilm itself is also nothing special.

Rating 3-4 due to the very few good scenes and the young age of Hehn. I haven't found any clips and only a VHS release.

Finding Neverland

Family film starring Johnny Depp. 1 Oscar
-Year: 2004
-Year in film: 1903-1910s
-Country: USA, UK
-Who in clothing: boys, hist. clothing/breeches
-Who in clothing 2: pajamas
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 3/10 *
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least 4 boys in quite good historical clothing (white suits with black and also red ties). Freddie Highmore, Luke Spill, Nick Roud and Joe Prospero (I think in that order, Young Artist Awards for all of them). Breeches like pants, black longer stockings, white collars and partly with very interesting red hats but also regular flat straw hats. Also in white or beige pajamas and pirate's costumes. Probably no sailor suits. Of course other grown-ups in historical clothing and also girls (at least one young girl in a white dress).

I don't know/don't remember this movie but probably I've seen it. Rated PG. Looks quite interesting. Johnny Depp playing J.M. Barrie ("Peter Pan", see also Peter Pan (1924), silent film, rating 5 including sailor suits).

Also starring Kate Winslet, Julie Christie and Dustin Hoffman.

I have to check this completely the next broadcasting, as well as other Pater Pan and related movies.

Rating 3-4 for now only (no Lederhosen, no sailor suits). Highmoore looks very young. And I think I wouldn't like most of the movie.

Der Förster vom Silberwald

Heimatfilm starring Rudolf Lenz, aka Echo der Berge
-Year: 1954
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Austria, Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~7-13 yo, men, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: altar boys
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low *
-Rating: 6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: One older boy (called Steffel or Steffl), maybe teen boy in buckskin (with patina) brown Lederhosen, pictured on top, also a very good scene hanging at a mountain showing close up of his bottom, then 2 boys, therof one teen boy in longer (non leather) pants and a young blond boy with a Tyrolean hat and longer buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (2nd pic, also good headshot), some background boys (3rd pic at a car, both in different buckskin Lederhosen with suspenders (showing this backside scene only, first hunking down in front of the car). Last pic showing some boys singing near the beginning, at least one younger boy with suspenders but looks like cotton pants and a jacket. At the very end, 2 young altar boys in white gown, red collars. And of course men in Lederhosen/traditional alpine clothing, I think mainly or only longer Lederhosen. Some other background boys but nothing much of interest.

How could I miss this very famous Heimatfilm? I even have seen it before, but obviously missed these scenes. Maybe I have seen it at high speed or left the room.

Also starring Albert Rueprecht, Anita Gutwell and Hermann Erhardt. Directed by Alfons Stummer.

Typical and good early Heimatfilm with typical landscape scenes, some dramatic and some romantic scenes and some alpine hunting scenes. Sadly only rather few and short good scenes of young actors in Lederhosen. See also the sequel "Der Wilderer vom Silberwald" (starring Harry Kratz, also rating 6, but I prefer that).

Although few scenes, rating 6.

Wer Knecht ist, soll Knecht bleiben

Drama starring Werner Asam
-Year: 1991
-Year in film: ~1918
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: altar boys ~9-11 yo
-Who in clothing 2: hist. clothing
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: At least these two altar boys in a white gown (black collar). Of course others in historical clothing. I don't know of any other/better scenes. Probably no boys in Lederhosen/sailor suits.

This TV movie (120 minutes) had been aired some weeks ago and maybe I forget the beginning. But I don't expect much more. Set mainly after WWI, but according to IMDb also in the 1900s. Maybe some flashbacks or else at the beginning. Novel by Georg Lohmeier. It's not a real Heimatfilm but has rural or even alpine setting.

Not sailot suits but good clothing of the altar boys with rare black collars (at a funeral). In most Heimatfilms collars are red or purple and often there's a wedding at the end. Not available on either DVD or VHS and no clips. Also starring Mona Freiberg, Hans Schuler and Gundi Ellert.

Rating 4-5. I will check this again the next broadcasting.

Polizeiruf 110: Ein bisschen Alibi

Crime series, 330+ ep. in 41+ seasons, still running
-Year: 1971-
-Year in film: 1972
-Country: DDR / Germany
-Who in clothing: Peter ~11 ys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: girl, shorts
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low ?
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least Andreas Schlarmann, maybe 10 or 11 yo (pictured) in this ep 8 "Ein bißchen Alibi" (s2e6) a the beginning in tight short Lederhosen without suspenders. I'm not sure if this is smooth finish leather. On one scene it looks like if there are drawstrings at the legs which are often on buckskin Lederhosen but I think they are more likely nappa or similar leather. The other blond kid in shorts looks like a boy (I could have sworn) but is the girl Andrea Bogacz.

I don't have the time to watch this complete episode on YouTube (sadly no quick preview pics yet) or TV (will be rebroadcasted on August 19 (2012) on channel hr, but in the night and I can't receive that channel anyway). I only noticed some few, but good scenes at the beginning.

There are also other episodes with very good Lederhosen scenes (also in color). So I will add separate entries and a main overwiew entry of this series soon. Probably Lederhosen scenes mainly or only on early East German (DDR) episodes. I like crime series but I only have seen very few episodes of it.

Another episode is (rating 7)

/2012/08/22/polizeiruf-110-im-alter-von/

I have to check much more. If someone knows more scenes or other good episodes, please comment.

For this episode rating 5 for now.

Story 48: Exclusive photo #19: sailor suit boys Belgium 1890s

This big cabinet card showing 2 freckled boys in sailor suits and the family. Taken in Mons, Wallonia in the 1890s. It's my earliest, most expensive and one of my favourite ones (so far).

The postcard sized cabinet card has hundreds of little scratches and a lot of round spots all over, also at the faces and it took me many hours to remove them. But it would be a lifetime job to remove them all. As it's a b&w pic I don't know the colors (of the sailor suits) but I saw a modern sailor suit (on the now deleted tumbl blog starting with sco) which looks similar and I don't assume pink sailor suits for boys. The fabric looks satin like and thin (a summer suit?) No external typical sailor collar but attached to the blouse. Many stripes. I like how they touch each other's shoulders/collars.

Interesting family and clothes, family is quite small for these times and the dad rather old (or the beard made it). The dad was most likely dominant, but the left boy also looks dominant over his thinner brother. The hairstyle looks very modern and I assume that they were rich. Not 100% sure about the date, maybe 1890s, maybe even earlier or 1900s. The backside of the card also has a good styled studio design, but this is nothing uncommon. Photographer R. Josz-Dongrie, 8 Rue Rogier (for those who might search for that).

Update 7/2023. Full pic 2 fixed target to Google Photos

Story 47: Dickey hanging out

This is a story entry, mainly of "Feuerwerk (1954)" (rating 7), both pics, set in 1909. One boy in a blue white striped sailor suit with a good white collar, 3 stripes, white dickey hanging out (very brief scene and sadly not shown from behind). In this scenes there is also a young girl in a sailor suit and some more later.

The other pic showing a boy in a rare, long grey sailor suit with a short brown collar and a rare cap, probably non-sailor cap. Interesting clothing but the boy in the medium blue sailor suit (white collar as well, see pic in the main entry) is much better and there are more scenes with him.  Good movie, for more see it's entry at

/2012/07/30/feuerwerk-1954/

It's quite rare showing the dickey hanging out. Before blogging I thought that they wore T-shirts underneath. Another movie is Dangerous Holiday (rating 7, b&w). Sometimes if boys are fighting (see also Lord Jeff, rating 10, and De witte (1980), rating 5), then the collars are of course deranged and the clean white suits or collars are dirty or wet (and often their parents or dads don't like it and maybe there will be a punishment or spanking). See also other story entries, especially

/2011/08/23/story-1-untidy-sailor-suits/

An open collar is shown in Emil och griseknoen /Emil i Lönnberga (rating 6).
