-Comment: Lederhosen! Alexander Kalodikis (as young Udo Jürgens, pictured top left on left and bottom pic, middle right) and at least one of his brothers (Manfred or Joel, ~12 ys, dark hair) in buckskin Lederhosen. Also about 4 or 5 incl. Udo in a small group of WWII boys partly in uniform and in buckskin Lederhosen, some even with H-style Tracht suspenders. Some in other pants. I have never seen this combination of uniform shirt and Lederhosen. Also farm work (stacking hay) and cycling of 4 boys (also Udo but he is behind, all pants are Lederhosen at different length and color, also a beige one which is big in size). 2 quite long scenes of Lederhosen as pictured and ~2 minor scenes. Especially Udo's Lederhosen has much patina, but I don't think that they are smooth finish. Set in Austria, Kärnten in 1944. No sailor suit scenes in this 2nd part and no Lederhosen scenes in part 1.

Now I have seen both parts completely (at slow standard speed) and had to make a separate entry. This 2nd part is much better (incl. some touching scenes, but also some violent scenes of WWII (young Udo is being hit in the face, and Udo's father (played by Ulrich Noethen) at prison, now rated FSK 6, first covers shown FSK 12). But some parts (~50 %) are boring and not necessarily the exclusive life of Udo and his dad and granddad, but this happened to many people during the war(s). And I don't like these many time leaps (I would accept some few flashbacks, but I wouldn't make a film like that). Most scenes of 1945, the 50s and 60s. Also some Russian kids in 2010 and again lots of other scenes in Russia. I don't want to tell this complete plot. Astonishing few songs of him in this films. Novel by Udo Jürgens and Michaela Moritz (published 2004).

DVD: German language only, some DVD extras (making of, interviews) but I don't need a DVD as it had been already broadcasted.
My rating (for 1st film) was in advance 7, then 5 (few sailor suit scenes, but not so bad either) and I give even 7 for this 2nd part and the complete films again (although the few good scenes).
