Wainde Wane in longer buckskin Lederhosen (without suspenders) with patina. And boys as the Vienna Boys Choir (Wiener Sängerknaben) in white and black sailor suits (good blue collars). Also 2 boys in dresses. And 1 or 2 in short Lederhosen. Also the boys in sport clothes (black shorts).

It's not a usual documentary but a real movie set in 1955. Looks quite interesting.

I can't say much more and will update this after the broadcast.

Update: Very good movie. Some handsome boys. I even considered rating 8 (mainly for sailor suits), but I decided to give just 7.

I recorded it but didn't had the time to check all at slow speed. Few interesting scenes in the second half. White sailor suits at the end. Also good dorm scenes (soon on my other blog).

Good and rare and funny kids western. Some handsome boys. But for sailor suits rating 3 only. Best is the bathtub scene (at 27 minutes). There's also a whipping scene.

It was time for another sailor suit entry.

Quite typical sailor suits, but rare and late setting in the 1950s and even (for the most parts ?) in Egypt. English title: "Two Kids and the Pyramids" and "An Egyptian Story".

Maybe quite good for it's time. But there are better movies.

I think many scenes, but rating 3-4 only.

Unknown movie # 11 found !

I just have found this assumed US 70s washing machine movie. It's the Italian series "La pietra di Marco Polo" (1982-1983) ep 19 (near the end).

I found it during research for "The Little Vampire (1986)" as I thought it might be that series (also see my bedroom blog). It was somehow linked to it. I first noticed boys with that haircut and later also the curtains on an earlier episode.

Also good bedroom scenes (bunkbed+ separate beds) and also a boy in bib overalls (soon on my other blogs, rating 4).

Looks very interesting, but I have to watch it completetly. Pic from a trailer. 1998 novel "Der Verlorene" by Hans-Ulrich Treichel.

Update: Very good plot, good movie and quite good actor. But they could have made much more about it. The leather fabric can't be really seen, but I'm still sure about it. The Lederhosen are quite long like knickers and most longer Lederhosen are tradional alpine style with ornamentation.

Also other interesting historical clothes like sports clothes (cotton shorts) of the 60s.

The best scene however is the haircut scene of 2 boys.

Unknown 11: US or German 70s series

Another unknown movie/series with a shirtless boy, I'm searching for many years. This time with a real pic. I have/had a short, untitled clip. Somehow I thought, that this is an episode of a 1970s tv series (like The Streets of San Francisco). Or maybe early 80s.

I titled this pic as US 70s washing machine. I think it's a top loading washing machine (not common in Germany) and light grey pajamas pants or sweat pants (also not common in Germany), probably secretly washing his pajamas. The curtains however look German or Bavarian.

I somehow think of "Meister Eder und sein Pumuckl" or The Little Vampire (CDN, D 1985). There's a plot of washing a Vampire's cape, but actors look different. I think I have seen this in around 1990 but obviously filmed much earlier. Historical haircut and clothes, so partly fits to this blog. My VHS recorder is defective, but I only remember having a short untitled clip. Maybe the ProSieben logo is a clue (first logo 1989-1994).

Vienna Boys Choir in black suits, long pants and the light blue modern collars with thin stripes (see other entries).

Most collars are quite long, shown from the side and also some few scenes showing the rear while turning and leaving).

Some of the current singers are handsome. Pic maybe later. There are probably enough pics and clips around elsewhere.

Good and more scenes than thought but Helene was mainly singing.

Rating 5-6 for the choir and collars.

Very good movie, previously rated 5, now 7. Tight and short smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen (without suspenders), 2 zippers and very handsome boy actor.

Also other scenes of interest like speedos. And funny handstand in Lederhosen.

Maybe fewer scenes than first assumed (mainly at the beginning) but scenes are very good. I think still not on DVD (obviously worth buying).

I'm still very busy and didn't had the time to check the complete movie at slow speed.

Update: Gian Burrasca (1983)

I now have completely checked this movie (at high speed). Some more boys in blue sailor suits and collars (at least 4, one other unpictured on the right). One looking more like a girl in a blue suit and red white collar.

Collars are quite long  but most are white. Most having 2 stars at the edges of the flaps. There are rather few sailor suit scenes mainly at school in the first half of the movie. Later the boys wearing rare grey suits and hats at a boarding school (also a good dorm scene).

The setting must be a bit later than assumed. Gian was born in 1905. So setting is in the mid 1910s (maybe the presence of the 1912 novel) and not in the 1900s or 1880s (like the opera). The boy is not supposed to be played by a man or even a girl like in the 1964 series.

Many different sailor collars, but rather few good scenes.

So still rating 5-6 only.

Most collars are rather short but wide. One boy has a light blue and longer collar (pic 4). Also a funny scene with a sailor collar with text as crib. The school scenes and the plot of the "bad boy" reminds me of the Lausbubengeschichten by Ludwig Thoma, especially part 2 with the same time setting (my first entry).

I only have seen few parts of some of the other episodes (as they got deleted on YouTube).

There's another movie with the same title, but that an animation. Very good is the 1983 movie Gian Burrasca (update coming soon). I haven't found the 1943 movie (except for the pic) and still have to check the 2001 movie and musicals/stage plays.

Rating 4-5 for now.

Info 203: Baby Gang (1992) - unknown movie?

Does anybody know this rare movie? Currently I'm checking just every Italian movie starting from 1992 back to ~1987 on an Italian database. On archivodelcinemaitaliano there are, I hope, all movies, including some few pics and English descriptions.

There are some pics on the web (link 2). The plot fits to this or a 2nd movie I'm searching. Set in Naples. Interesting plot involving drugs and transvestites. But I remember a darkhaired little boy (movie #2) instead of the blond one. Maybe there are more kids.

Maybe someone knowing this movie and can tell if there's the described staircase scene. There's also a 14 yo (pic 2 with a motorcycle ?)

But somehow I think it's probably not the real one I'm searching for. Main characters don't match. Probably more city and modern setting.

Today I found another 80s movie with Vitali ("Pierino contro tutti", modern setting, overalls blog rating 7, and even ordered that). I'm still searching for my unknown coming-of-age movie.

I only have checked some parts of this one and can't say much more yet.

The 2001 movie also has a boy in a sailor suit and the 1964 b&w series has boys, but Gian is played by a 9 yo girl. Also interesting the 1943 movie (colorized green short sailor suit). I have to make posts of these.

Handsome French boy with longer hair on the rear, but I only noticed this brief scene in a sailor suit.

I currently have 4 other Turn of the Screw entries but half of them without sailor suits. 2 also with girls in sailor dresses. Best concerning sailor suits are this and the 1992 version. I also have the 2009 movie, The Haunting of Helen Walker (1995) and Otra vuelta de tuerca (1985).

I have to check for more versions including stage plays.

One in a rare, white blue chequered suit (looks also like a matching attached collar) Most or all pants are of 3/4th length. At least 2 longer scenes near the beginning. Also of course grown-ups in historical clothes and large hats.

Available on an expensive 3 disc set O.W. Fischer compilation (light orange cover), note that there is a different 4 DVD set, combined on the same Amazon entry but with different 4 movies.

Looks very interesting. Unfortunately the YouTube clip has a bad image quality. I hope for a soon broadcasting to check it more carefully.

I found this by coincidence and it shows I think a boy wearing garter waists with wide crossed straps (stocking supporters ?). Not sure if this or better scenes are shown in the series as well.

Here in Germany I have never heard of this series before. Novel by John Masefield.

Generally, garter waists are also rarely shown (Karl's friend have a lots of pics, see flickr blogroll).

Also at least a blond boy with bowlcut.

I have to recheck this again later. I don't like Til Schweiger at all. His daughter Emma is quite funny but first still very young here, and she and her voice a bit annoying after a while.

Quite interesting movie but I don't like the 70s. Typical movie for it's time. English title The Profiteer. Starring Valeria Moriconi.

I don't know the exact title of this episode, according to the logo it's more likely from the series "Barbarossa - Das Geschichtsmagazin"  (2007-2011). The time is also unclear. Looks like the 60s but could also be the 70s or even later.

I mentioned it before but missed it and yesterday I have seen the last 30 minutes of part 2. Interesting history of the Dirndl and Lederhosen. The tradition of wearing Lederhosen (for everyone and always in Bavaria) isn't that old, just started in around 1888.

Part one doesn't show good Lederhosen scenes (or I missed them). All pics from part 2 which is about the political influence. Pic 1 is from the intro of both.

Most scenes are taken from short b&w footage Super 8 films, partly from personal collections. All pics here from moving images. There are also some photos shown. Few boys and scenes of the 1930s most other boys wearing uniforms, most scenes of course of the 1950s and 1960s but in total rather few scenes.

Sorry, currently no pics. The pics here are taken from Ferien auf Immenhof (1957). "Meine Kinder und ich" is a b&w movie and very rare.

There is no DVD release and currently no clips online. I think it was online and got deleted. So I wait for another upload or TV broadcasting.

Also starring Paul Dahlke. Directed by Wolfgang Schleif who also did the Immehof movies and similar movies, also Zärtliches Geheimnis, aka Ferien in Tirol starring Michael Ande.

I like smooth finish Lederhosen.

Looks very interesting but I only have checked it at high speed.

I'm not sure, but I think I can give rating 8 for now. Quite rare for an East German movie showing Lederhosen set in the 1940s.

I even found a much better movie but I have to do more research. As I currently don't have pics or clips, I don't make a post to better find them. Google would give false results and referring to this blog.

Tomorrow officially starting the Oktoberfest. I haven't found movies of interest for Saturday except the opening broadcasting, I think starting at 11 h. Sunday the Trachtenzug at 10 h. I will search for more on Sunday and later tomorrow.

The boy is quite young, not sure if there are others in sailor suits.

I think I wouldn't buy it. It's obviously not available on DVD anyway.
