-Comment: About the half family in sailor suits. At least 2 young women or teen girls in blue sailor dresses or similar (one with white collar) and one also in rare chequered sailor dress, 2 very young boys both in white and also blue sailor suits and short pants and sailor hats and I think also 2 older boys in blue and white sailor suits (?). One teen boy in breeches and two teen boys in dark blue bathing costumes.

Sorry, I saw too late that this is a Technicolor film as the trailer is b/w. I don't know/don't rememeber this 1950 version and have to check this again. Looks quite similar like the Trapp-Familie (dad whistling for the kids, see that entry.) Starring Clifton Webb and Jeanne Crain. There was a remake starring Steve Martin in 2003 (I think without sailor suits but 2 boys in bibs) and a sequel in 2005. Also a sequel with partly same actors is "Belles On Their Toes" (1952, also with sailor suits, see that entry). Real story after 1948 novel by Frank Bunker Gilbreth, Jr.. Not sure if bathing costumes in both movies, maybe pics are taken from both.
Rating 7-8 for now, maybe even better than the sequel, but kids are younger here. For other films see my sequel entry and also my overalls blog entry "Cheaper by the Dozen" (also for the 2003 version).

Some good color pics of Cheaper by the Dozen are at

Update: Now I exchanged the pics with colored ones. Showing the 2 young boys as well in short white and medium blue sailor suits, dark blue scarf. Both blue collars, I think 2 stripes. Also confirming teen boys in bathing costumes here (now not sure if on the other film). And also not sure if older boys in sailor suits as well. Have to check it again. I have also updated the entry on my other blog (boy in bib overalls, rating 4 for that). Still leaving rating 7 as this is a good movie.
