-Comment: A young boy, must be Josi Kleinpeter in blue sailor suits and short pants (pictured). Directed by Hans Deppe after a 1924 stage play by Hans Reimann and Toni Impekoven. I just saw today the last minute of this film, which was by coincidence the very same minute of 9/11 attacks 10 years ago. That's also one of the reasons why I missed this film. 1939 was also a bad year. The only clip I found on YouTube is this spanking scene (without sailor suit, mabe same pants). Film is available on DVD and obviously not into Public Domain yet. I have to check again, but the boy is very young. So rating only 3 for now. As he also wears other clothes, I assume medium or fewer sailor suit scenes. There are also other b/w films with the same name (eg a 1931 version by Erich Kästner and a 1969 version starring Willy Millowitsch) and also a nickname of a famous German comedian "Ekel Alfred" (Heinz Schubert). Film aka The Grouch. There is also a related 1959 film "Der Haustyrann" starring Heinz Erhardt about this play.
