Exclusive pic#48 sailor suit boy Berlin open collar

This tiny CDV showing a boy from Berlin with an open sailor collar and no scarf.

Good expression, not sure if he's a bit shy. I can't say much more. Age maybe around 9 yo, setting around 1910s. Looks similar than my exclusive #24.

Typical short hair, big ears.

Unfortunately I currently don't have the time to search and buy more photos. As usual high res on Picasa (click on magnifying glass there).

On TV: Zum Goldenen Ochsen

SUI 1958 b&w. At least a young boy in short buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders descending from a bike at about 1 hour.

Sorry, I recorded too late.

Aka Eine Rheinfahrt, die ist lustig. Starring Schaggi Streuli. Also other films with him are of interest.

Kinderjahre in der Monarchie

kinderjahreindermonarchie kinderjahreindermonarchie2

Ducumentary pre WWI
-Year: 2007
-Year in film: 1910s
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: boys ~6-12, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: Lederhosen, mostly men, other cl.
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating:  4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Had been aired today. More movies (like Das weiße Band, rating 3 for sailor suits) and documentaries this week on 3sat.

Half of this documentary showing pics, mostly colorized like all of the pics here. The rest is historic footage, moving images mostly b&w one or 2 notable brief scenes with boys in sailor suit, and the rest the typical interviews of older people. Pic 2 in the Prater in Vienna.

Although set in Austria only one brief scene of men in longer Lederhosen. The only notable pic is that pictured below. No or no notable girls in sailor dresses.

Quite interesting about childhood in the early 1910s but there are better documentaries. Image quality of the b&w movie is quite bad but normal for it's age. Colorization is a matter of taste.

Rating 4-5.

ON TV: Today 22.30 h "Der taumelnde Kontinent (2/3)" also interesting scenes including bathing costumes. Part 3 on Monday.

Info 183: Update: The Waltons f/m

Some more sailor suit / sailor dress scenes (next to bib overalls, knickers, coveralls, other uniforms, bathing costumes (season 1), night gowns and other historical clothes in The Waltons. I already had an entry (I forgot adding it to my A-Z list), rating 7 showing 16 yo Erin in a dark blue sailor dress (Christmas scene in s6e11). Sailor dresses and knickers are mostly worn at ceremonial occasions. Some clothes especially in later seasons even ressemble clothes of the 1970s (flared legs) and 80s (tight jeans).

Pics showing Ben Walton in a long white navy / sailor suit, white sailor's cap and a long white collar flag (without stripes), white dickey, long dark blue scarf at the very end of season 8 (set in the early 1940s). Collar touched and getting embraced by Cindy.

An unknown actress in s3e19 in a dark blue sailor dress, set in the mid 30s (similar to that of Erin, see that entry). And the older brother of Josh in a dark blue navy suit in season 6 (CD5, at 2h57). However very few sailor suit scenes.

I don't know season 9 and have to recheck season 1, 8 and parts of season 2. For more infos about this series (boys, girls, teens) mainly in overalls, check my other blog (rating 10 with separate season entries and additional stories). Rating 6 for this sailor suits. Main entry here on this blog showing Erin

Bollywood lässt Alpen glühen

Modern Heimatfilm starring Alexandra Neldel
-Year: 2011
-Year in film: 2010s?
-Country: Germany, Austria
-Who in clothing: boys ~9, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: men, women Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: medium ?
-Rating:  7/10 ?
-Rating: *******
-Comment: At least these 2 boys in buckskin Lederhosen (not sure if H-style suspenders under the red sweater) and even at least 2 young women in Lederhosen, one pictured in short Lederhosen (is that Neldel ?) and one in longer black Lederhosen. Also men (young and old) in short and long Lederhosen, I think also dancing, not sure about Schuhplattler.

Had recently been aired. Finally another Lederhosen movie. Unfortunately I missed most of it. Probably few scenes of the boys only?

I have to check this again the next broadcasting.

Not bad (at least not for a modern movie), but I prefer the classic 50s and 60s Heimatfilms.

Rating 7 for now.

Update:

Aka. “Mach’s nochmal auf Indisch”. I have seen most of it, maybe missing some few minutes at the beginning.

2 (similar) scenes of these boys. But they are great. Good scenes front and rear view playing soccer or similar. Still rating 7 (but I wouldn't buy it).

Voici venir l'orage...

Family saga, 3 parts
-Year: 2007
-Year in film: 1905 (-1944)
-Country: France, Belgium
-Who in clothing: boys ~7, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: girls sailor dresses, man uniform
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: One young blond boy in 3 interesting different sailor suits / uniforms. Also 3 young girls, thereof one with a good blue collar (2 stripes). I don't know the name of the kids. All the few interesting scenes at the end of part 1 (set in 1905). I think I missed the beginning. Also other grown up in historical clothig and uniforms, also women in sailor dresses or similar. The rest is rather boring. Also containing real b&w footage (nothing much of interest there).

As announced this entry. Unfortunately only very few good scenes. First the girls, Then the boy in the long (?) light blue suit, then the sitting scene in short light grey shorts and blue jacket and collar, matching grey scarf and finally the short white uniform with a long blue collar (back is briefly shown).

First I considered I higher rating but I don't like the kids either. Directed by Nina Companeez, starring Anouk Grinberg.

Rating 6-7.
