I don't know/don't remember this complete movie. Quite interesting. Rated R. There are even much more movies of Alexei that I also have to check. But I assume rather few sailor suit scenes and I prefer Christian Bale as Alexei. Interesting plot and uniforms though.

Probably a good Heimatfilm by Géza von Bolváry starring Gerhard Riedmann, Paul and Thomas Hörbiger, Gardy Granass and Franz Muxeneder. Yodelling, but not sure if also dancing Schuhplattler.

Film aka "Hoch drob'n auf dem Berg." I mentioned this movie before in the b&w movie "Rosen in Tirol" (1940, starring Johannes Heesters, rating 2, see that entry). In that film there is a song called "Hoch droben auf dem Berg" but the (main) plot is most likely different.

I have to check this again. Rating 2-3 for now.

As I'm not able to understand Japanese it was very difficult using translations, search for actress' names, image search and image by image search. I haven't checked each film yet, but the most interesting ones I couldn't find online. One of the best websites is this

The only movies I know is Pippi Longstocking and Heidi. But more than half of the films are Japanese films, often Sci-Fi, some of Ryu Mitsuse. Info 68: 2 new Albums. Color sailor suit photos and art

I created 2 more albums now with color pics of sailor suits. 10 pics for now. One with Creative commons pics and photos (mostly of Spanish boys at First Communion) and another one with sailor suit in arts. The last are believed to be in Public Domain in the US as they are published before 1923 or for other reasons.

Perfect and funny family entertainment. I don't remember this complete movie (and the other 6+ parts of this film series) but looks very interesting.

Scenes at school and at home also showing interesting scenes of which I will create 1 or 2 separate story entries (dressing on sailor suits the easy way, including shirtless scenes and being embraced and wrinkling the collar).

I even considered rating 10, but the boys are quite young and one is overweighted. Interesting and unusual (red) collars, but I assume only medium sailor suit scenes. Also late setting for sailor suits.

Maybe I will even purchase this DVDs. Or hope for a soon broadcasting.
There are also similar films and film series with Kung Fu, Karate, Kickboxing and Ninja kids like the 3 Ninja Kids (I already have it on my other blog). 

Aka "Young Dragons: Kung Fu Kids 2", "Jackie Chan and the Karate Kids" and "Lucky Kids - Kampf gegen Black Killer" in German; original title "好小子2". There are also boys and girls in bib overalls in this series which I will also check and add.

There is a German 6 DVD box and an US 2 disc 8 movies box (with partly other Jackie Chan films) but there are in total 12 related movies (at least in Germany); also Kung Fu Kids VII, "The Incredible Kids", "Lucky Kids: Lucky Seven" parts 1 and 2, Thunder Ninja Kids, Cue Commando and maybe more and with other international titles, (partly with 5 or 7 martial arts kids, some even with girls). So a lot to watch and check. For this rating 9 for now.

Story 20: Exclusive photos #3: Boys Hungary sailor suit 1930

My 3rd lot of pics I bought. The first had many hits, the 2nd only half of it.

My first foreign kids and 2 brothers. Must be a hard time between the wars. Also shortly after the monarchy Austria-Hungary, so it's possible that they or their parents understood German.
The names are handwritten on the backside and must be a greeting of the 2 from Gödöllő to someone else. Maybe their grandmother or other relative.

Gödöllő was also the summer residence of Sissi.
I hope they had a good life (assuming that they are dead). R.I.P.

Good modern Heimatfilm. Sadly I missed the first half. But many Lederhosen scenes. Good landscape and farm/horse scenes, also dramatic scenes.

I mainly noticed the voice of the boy, soft and quite high pitched. I don't like his dark and long haircut. I prefer short Lederhosen.
Also starring Anja Kruse, Simone Heher and Wolfgang Fierek. 

There are also at least 2 related movies with him (probably also in Lederhosen), but have to check. "Da wo die Freundschaft zählt" and "Da wo es noch Treue gibt". German films but filmed in Austria. Not sure if he is Austrian.

Quite good Heimatfilm with unusual early setting in 1910. Good landscape scenes, but very few and short Lederhosen scenes (I think 1 or 2). At least the boy is not so young as in other Heimatfilms.

Also starring Rudolf Lenz, Gunther Philipp, Alice and Ellen Kessler and Christine Görner.

Rating 3. I prefer short Lesenhosen.

Info 66: Update: Heimat

To those who haven't already noticed: After correcting the pics and made an entry of "Väter und Söhne" (rating 9) I also now have updated "Heimat - Eine deutsche Chronik" and added new pics (the same as shown here). I also found next to the older teen boy also a young boy in Lederhosen (pictured, Ernstchen, below Wilfried in sailor suit). But most of the scenes are probably b&w.

I still haven't checked the complete trilogy yet (18 DVDs).
Rating now 7 instead of 9.

Starring Bruno Ganz, Herbert Grönemeyer, Hannes Jeanicke, Burt Lancaster, Julie Christie and others. Written and directed by Bernhard Sinkel. This series (4 parts, 525 minutes) is about the German chemistry and paint dynasty "Deutz" (I.G. FARBEN). Internation title Fathers and Sons.

I have to check this series again. But I assume rather few or medium sailor suit scenes in total as only one of the 4 parts are set in the 1910s. Probably no Lederhosen. Maybe I will buy this, if not rebroadcasted.

There are also similar very good series in this "Große Geschichten" series, like Die Bertinis. One trailer (can't be embedded) and some short clips at the director's YouTube page.

Info 65: Mistake "Heimat - Eine deutsche Chronik"

Sorry, 3 of the 4 pics are from "Väter und Söhne" (1986), not from "Heimat - Eine deutsche Chronik". The b&w pics on the other entries are corrects.  Heimat is b&w and color and also has a similar looking blond boy in sailor suit.

I wasn't completely sure then, but now, after searching for a completely different Austrian film or series (I still haven't found that), I found this mini series "Väter und Söhne" aka "Fathers and Sons".

I'm deeply sorry, I hope nobody has bought Heimat because of this pics (and spanking scene). However Heimat is also worth buying.

This movie almost has it all. Maybe except for Heimatfilm scenes, smooth finish Lederhosen and girls.

Luka Kumi wore a short white sailor suit with dark and light blue collars, 3 stripes and a black hat (pics below), one boy in and outside school in dark blue sailor suit and one at a zoo (unpictured). However the boy in Lederhosen with suspenders is quite young, the others not cute enough. Why didn't Kevin Köppe wore Lederhosen? But he wore a German uniform.

I saw this movie as it was aired, but haven't recorded all of it. I only have checked some parts recently, so I have to check this again completely.

Interesting movie (2 parts), autobiographical novel by Hans-Jürgen Massaqoui.
I don't remember the parts set in 1940 and don't assume sailor suits Lederhosen there. Maybe I haven't seen them. Political incorrect title and I don't like Racism.
Rating even 7-8 for now, but compared to other movies I give 7.

Info 63: Webfound: Spanking scene

I'm reading the book "Fanny och Alexander" and found the German word Seemannskragen (sailor collar). Before that I mostly heard Matrosenkragen or Marinekragen. I searched the web and found this interesting pics of visiting a school museum. The don't wear the sailor collars bound properly but the front side strips of the collars are loose and very long. One boy in jeans and sailor collar is being spanked and loughing.

Story 18: Exclusive photos #2: Boy in sailor suit 1924

The 2nd lot of vintage photos I bought. A boy from Gelsenkirchen, Germany in 1924. Looks like it's both the same boy, or maybe (twin) brothers? I like that pose and it's maybe a bit unusual with the legs apart and hands in his pockets for that time.

There's even a name written, most likely the mother, but I can't read it properly. I even have more of him and also a girl (maybe his sister), but the girl was wearing other clothes.

I don't know anything more about them and hope they had a good life. R.I.P.
I also wonder how people can afford making a photograph in those hard times. They can't had been be very poor.

At a close up view on the left pic, someone had retouched the spot between his legs til the floor (not me). I wonder what was there.

Starring Rudolf Prack, O.E. Hasse, Walter Müller, Bruce Low and others. There is also a 1933 version, but I don't know anything about that.

I found 2 interesting pages of a Sears catalog at a blog called Ye Olde Fashion. There are also other catalog pics of interesting clothing (breeches), tag children or children's clothing.

Most of the 1910s-1940s images are b&w. Some are colorized. Same for b&w movies and colorized lobby cards or movie poster. Maybe not all colors in the colorized pics are correct. Maybe they even used different colors because of b&w. Also interesting the different styles and prices. 90 cents for a suit.

-Comment: Men and some few quite young boys in buckskin Lederhosen, probably only at the end of this movie. Perhaps 6-10ys or younger. Singing "Hoch droben auf dem Berg". There is also a 1957 color movie with that title (which also needs an entry here, but I haven't found any clips of that).

After the operetta by Carl Zeller and film aka "Der Vogelhändler" (The Bird Seller). Remake of 1935 that is aka Die Christl von der Post.

Directed by Géza von Bolváry, starring Johannes Heesters, Hans Moser, Theo Lingen and Hans Holt. Maybe interesting historical uniforms and some funny scenes.

I have only checked some parts of this movie. I think I don't like those military films. Obviously few Lederhosen scenes. So rating only 2 for now.

-Comment: I think Mao Inoue (pictured) in a white sailor dress (blue skirt). Blue collar, 3 stripes. I don't know this movie and assume few or medium sailor dress scenes.
Set in Japan during WWII. Not to be confused with the 2008 movie aka Tombstone of the Fireflies. There is also a much more famous animated film.

English title "Grave of the Fireflies", original title "火垂るの墓".

There are also some kids acting (at least a boy and a girl), but I don't know of any other in sailor suit. The girl might have a white collar but it's not a sailor collar. I have to check this and the other movie again.
Rating 3-4 for now.

I found some stereo cards on the web, printed one of them but can't see it in stereo as I don't have a viewer (obviously need 2 lenses). So I searched and found these and other animations (combining images for left and right eye).
Very interesting historical clothing in 3D. Maybe it's even possible to convert a regular 2D into 3D image.

There are also some funny horror flip pics (German: Wackelbilder) with a lenticular screen foil. They turn mostly Edwardian people into zombies or vampires or else scary and funny pics. They are probably copyrighted and I don't want to advertise these. Maybe I create one of my own later.
I did this animated pic of Prince Henry of Wales in 1910 (born 1900?) and Prince Wilhelm of Prussia (*1906).

-Comment: One of the main actors, a 9 yo in longer grey buckskin Lederhosen and a very young boy (big pic on top, young boy on far left), I don't know their names. Also one short scene where boys, maybe almost 20 in different Lederhosen running out of a school. Age range from 5-11 ys. One Lederhosen of a young boy might be smooth finish leather.

The movie is quite funny and entertaining also starring Paul Hörbiger, Gunnar Möller and Christine Kaufmann as child. Novel by Johannes Kai and A.N. Schneider.
