I'm reading the book "Fanny och Alexander" and found the German word Seemannskragen (sailor collar). Before that I mostly heard Matrosenkragen or Marinekragen. I searched the web and found this interesting pics of visiting a school museum. The don't wear the sailor collars bound properly but the front side strips of the collars are loose and very long. One boy in jeans and sailor collar is being spanked and loughing.
