Story 58: Venice Boys Choir - sailor suit collar

This PD pic showing the Venice Boys' Choir (not to be confused with the Vienna Boys' Choir). There are also some more pics of them at loc.gov, but I choose this pic as it better show their collars from the back. Taken by Harris & Ewing on Jan 20 1938 . Loc gov Harris & Ewing collection #23943v.

Morgens um Sieben ist die Welt noch in Ordnung

Family film
-Year: 1968
-Year in film: 1960s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: shorts, pajamas
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low
-Rating:  3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Some younger boys and one teen boy in Lederhosen, and the main character often in tight shorts.

As announced this movie. 1st pic. About 3 young boys ~7-8 yo in buckskin Lederhosen with H-style suspenders. In fact only this frame and nothing more shown. 2nd pic showing an older teen boy of a gang in (probably) buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders (on right, also shown from behind but short scene in dark light). One short scene with some boys in Lederhosen getting into a 2 CV. One boy is pushed (at his bottom) into the small car. But briefly and partly shown. Could be much better.

Archibald Eser as Gaylord in tight and short light and dark blue shorts and also pajamas. Quite good. But a typical movie and setting of the late 60s looking like the 70s. Famous novel by Eric Malpass, also starring Gerlinde Looker (starring in many Heimatfilms), Rolf Zacher, Peter Arens and Wolfgang Petry. The sequel had been aired today. No Lederhosen in that but shorts as well. Also starring a girl. Quite good plot but I don't like that either. The boy(s) are also very young. Both movies available on 1 DVD.

Rating 2-3 only.

The Rainbow (1989)

Drama, romance by Ken Russell
-Year: 1989
-Year in film: 1900s
-Country: UK, USA
-Who in clothing: boys, sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2: young women, sailor dresses, other cl.
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low ?
-Rating:  6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: At least two young boys in short light blue sailor suits (very long white collars) and some young women/older teen girls in sailor dresses and typical dark blue collars (3 stripes), pictured. Also of course other historical clothing, like a woman with a rare squared collar (squared front and back, see trailer) and kids at school (I think none in sailor suits).

I had many Lederhosen entries the last days, so one sailor suit one. This coming-of-age (female) film looks quite interesting (1915 novel by D. H. Lawrence, novel starting in the 1840s.), starring 24 yo Sammi Davis (as main character Ursula), Paul McGann and Amanda Donohoe. Directed by Ken Russell (1927-2011, "Mahler" (rating 4), "Tommy (1975)" Lady Chatterly (1993 series, also written by Lawrence).

Unfortunately I didn't had the time to watch this movie completely (113 minutes) and hope for a soon broadcasting.

Rating 5-6 for now only (due to the young age of the boys and the old age of the women). I also assume rather few good scenes.

Coming next "Morgens um Sieben ist die Welt noch in Ordnung" (mostly younger boys in Lederhosen, and pajama, rating 3). Tomorrow morning the sequel will be aired.

Wenn die Musik spielt am Wörthersee

Musical / comedy film starring Vivi Bach
-Year: 1962
-Year in film: 1960s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: women, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: men, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating:  2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: 4 young women, maybe around 20 in grey buckskin Lederhosen (pictured) at a stage play (so rather costumes) dancing with other women (showing front and back). Even wearing Tyrolean hats. Only this one and short scene. I think some men in long Lederhosen as well. One teen boy as a waiter, but no boys in Lederhosen.

Maybe someone likes women in Lederhosen. I noticed it and have the tag women in Lederhosen (very few entries yet), so I publish it here as well. (Also to not watch this movie again by coincidence the next airing).

Famous actors like Claus Biederstaedt, Grethe Weiser and Eddi Arent. Maybe some few Heimatfilm elements (landscape) but this is more a musical and comedy film. I don't like it, though the movie itself is quite funny. I think not released on either DVD nor VHS, no wonder.

So rating 1-2 only. There's a clip on YouTube but no need for embedding it.

Story 57: Exclusive pics #25 Flensburg 1920s school class

This school class pics showing many boys, almost everybody in sailor suits and school caps. Flensburg, St. Nikolai Knabenschule 1924 and 1925 (not sure if the same class and same boys but most likely). I haven't compared them and it's hard because of the caps not showing their hair. The boy on the little pic on the right is probably in the second row on top 3rd from right in 1924. I even have all names of the 1924 class, 5a 5th grade. Typical old German first names (like Otto, Karl and 4x Heinrich) and typical Northern last names (with ...ssen at the end). Flensburg is in Northern Germany and of course sailor suits were typical there. The 1925 pic on top also has a similar cardboard. The pics are in very good condition and I don't had to enhance them much. There is a 3rd pic in this lot (not at class pic but 2 younger boys and lots of grown ups in front of a house, maybe a celebration), but I don't like that and have better pics to come. Most boys look happy and I can't say much more about it.

Das Erbe von Björndal

Heimatfilm starring Brigitte Horney
-Year: 1960
-Year in film: ~1900s
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: boy ~10 yo ?,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: boy uniform, girl collar
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low
-Rating:  3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: One boy and probably some men in longer buckskin Lederhosen (not completely sure if buckskin leather or leather at all, might be cotton ?) Also an interesting uniform (pictured). A girl in a dress (blue skirt) and a lace collar but no real sailor dress.

English title "Heritage of Bjorndal", also starring Maj-Britt Nilsson, novel by Trygve Gulbranssen.

I will update this soon as I currently don't have much time and don't know the name of the actors yet. Maybe Ladislaus Hillinger ? Girl maybe Gertraud Jesserer?

Coming today "Weißer Holunder" currently rating 3, but I haven't seen this movie and only know of men in Lederhosen by now. (Update, Sorry no boys in Lederhosen. Entry updating tomorrow).

/2011/11/27/weiser-holunder/

This also rating 2-3. Some boys and men in (longer) Lederhosen in yesterday's ZDF Fernsehgarten. But no good (Lederhosen scenes) at the Wiesn parade. I think both at the mediathek.

Wo die alten Wälder rauschen

Heimatfilm starring Willy Fritsch
-Year: 1956
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Loisl ~9 yo ?, men Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: pajamas, jeans
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: very often
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Peter Fischer (pictured) in buckskin Lederhosen with H-style suspenders. Often shown. Also wet (soaked) after being in a lake and at a heavy thunderstorm. He is also being spanked with a belt, but this is not directly shown.

Also starring Peter Finkbeiner (as his friend Nils on the left in dark blue jeans, also quite good and also pajama scenes (could be better)).

Very good Heimatfilm with good landscape and lot of animal scenes. Good plot and the boys are often shown, more than half of the movie. Unfortunately only one boy and he is quite young. And I don't like curly hair. Some scenes are often set in the dark (also at a campfire). The thunderstorm scene is also at the night with some few lightnings. Some minor drama at the end but mostly a peaceful Heimatfilm dealing about the friendship of the boys and also a romance of a man and woman.

I think only available on VHS. Rating 5-6. No Schuhplattler, no smooth finish Lederhosen, also few men in Lederhosen. No clips yet.

Musi und Gsang im Wirtshaus

Volksmusik show series
-Year: 2012-
-Year in film: 2012
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~8-12, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: men, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: often
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: At least 3 boys in Lederhosen in this episode, aired yesterday evening (Sept. 21th 2012).

As announced in the previous post I missed most of this show. It can be seen online (br.de mediathek) I think they are called "Die Musikantenkinder" and singing together with the band "Kapelle Josef Menzel" the song "Der Floh", maybe they are the kids of him? I don't know they names. Song at about 33 minutes but they also appeared a bit later and maybe earlier in this show. But of course mostly grown-ups (some younger men in Lederhosen as well). The taller dark haired boy on the right has a bowl cut.

It's not the first show showing traditional Bavarian folk music (families in traditional clothing playing traditional alpine instruments, and singing and yodelling in a pub). I like these shows and have to check more of them. There are also these kind of shows showing a Bavarian Christmas.

Nothing of interest in the today's opening of the Oktoberfest (some few kids in Lederhosen, mostly shown not close up and it was raining, I think also some girls). Maybe some better tomorrow morning (ARD). However one other show, called "Bayern feiert" was good. Boys in Lederhosen. Had been aired at 15.00 and can also be seen at the mediathek (for maybe 7 days). I also have added a pic to the announcement of "Die große Chance". Entry coming very soon.

Make sure to not get missed the previos post of 4 Heimatfilms coming this evening. Also coming Vorstadtkrokodile 2, but probably no Lederhosen.

Info 131: On TV Sept 22 2012

Of course soon on TV Oktoberfest (11.00 on Bayern 3, 30 minutes earlier than on ARD)

20.15 on Bayern 3 Heimatfilm evening 4 films. (I have 2 of it Die Försterbuben (rating 1) and Der Förster vom Silberwald, rating 6), no entries yet of

Die Försterchristel (sorry mistake, no Lederhosen scenes there)

and

Wo die alten Wälder rauschen.

(Both) movies confirmed boys in Lederhosen.

Yesterday had been aired "Musi und Gsang im Wirtshaus" with I think 4 boys (~8-12 yo, pictured) in Lederhosen, also singing. I missed some major parts, but can be watched again on bayern 3 Mediathek (br.de). Scene of the Song is at about 33 minutes. Also coming soon.

At least one more entry later this day. Also new monthly stats, but nothing much different here. The Woman in Black (sailor suit) is now also very high on the main stats.

September 21, 2012

Info 130: Now running: Die große Chance

on 3sat. confirmed Lederhosen
Also coming soon "Das Erbe von Björndal" (long Lederhosen or similar, boy in uniform, and girl with a lace collar.) Rating 2-3.

I'm not sure if there will be some good pics of the next 2 Oktoberfest weeks. I think I can't post personal pics of unknown persons (like in the parade on Sunday). But maybe there are some documentaries, choirs or similar shows.

Update: One first pic (Die große Chance 1957). Full entry coming soon. Sadly 2 short scenes of the boy in Lederhosen only. But 2 more boys in good shorts.

Info 129: Update Lark Rise to Candleford

This series is currently being aired Tuesdays and Wednesdays on Servus TV. Very interesting clothes and especially hats and caps. The blond boy on the first pic is called Billie (I don't know the name of the actor as uncredited on IMDb) wearing knickers or similar. Funny white long shirt looks like a night shirt. Pics are from ep. 2. Though I missed some parts of it and have to check this series completely. At least also women with sailor like collars.

Rating 3 for now as no real sailor suits nor Lederhosen. The series itself is probably better (maybe 5-6) but there are a lot of similar period films. Main entry (no new infos/pics) at

Sheriff Teddy

DEFA film
-Year: 1957
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: East Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~13, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: boys shorts, knickers
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low+ ?
-Rating:  6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: At least one older blond boy, probably 13 like the main character in light brown or similar buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders (pictured on the right cycling). Is this Axel Dietz as best friend Andreas? I think so.

Looks very interesting. Novel by Benno Pludra ("Tambari" (rating 5, see that entry) , Insel der Schwäne). Directed by Heiner Carow (1929-1997 "Coming Out (1989)"). Starring Gerhard Kuhn as main character Kalle (on the left) leader of the boy's gang. 68 minutes.

Unfortunately I don't know/don't remember this movie and I have to check this again completely and hope for a soon broadcasting.

Rating 6-7 for now. Probably a typical good East German family film and the actors are older than usual. I haven't found any clips yet.

Update: Briefly checked the complete movie. Much fewer scenes than assumed but very good scenes and even more boys in Lederhosen, with and without H-sytle suspenders. Pic near the beginning. Also boys cycling but mainly or only in shorts/knickers?

Story 56: Exclusive pic 24 colorized sailor suit boy

I have colorized the previous exclusive sailor suit pic. Sorry, I'm not an expert and just spent about 30 minutes.

September 16, 2012

Story 55: Exclusive photo #24 sailor suit boy Hanover

This small CDV showing a handsome boy maybe about 9 or 10 yo from Hanover. Uncommon horizontal and vertical striped and long collar. Piercing light blue or green eyes (maybe matching the collar), short hair. I think this would be perfect to colorize.

There were some more other pics of him (which I didn't bought). Also showing him completely, wearing short, I think different (blue and black) pants and long black stockings and black shoes. In some pics he was wearing a matching dickey. Also holding a dark sailor's hat (looks like a school cap) in his hands. I wonder why he was changing so often his clothes and what pics are for what purpose. With dickey for granddad? The other pics have a different photographer's text style but this could also be a later reorder. I choose this pic, as it best showing the length of the collar. Sadly I don't know his name nor the date. Maybe 1920s, 1910s or even earlier. Photographer Carl Thies, Hannover.

Coming next 2 very good school class pics with nearly everybody in sailor suits.

Info 127: Update Liebe, Jazz und Übermut

As announced a complete update of "Liebe, Jazz und Übermut" starring Peter Alexander and young Roland Kaiser (not in Lederhosen here) after completely seen. Much better than thought and many actors in Lederhosen. Boys ~6-18 ys. Some with H-style suspenders. Now rating 6-7 instead of 5. Sadly no or no notable smooth finish Lederhosen. Some handsome blond (teen) boys, but most of the older teen boys/young men are not very handsome. So few perfect Lederhosen scenes but quite good and funny movie.

More infos and 1 more new pic (and the 2 old ones) at

History (2000)

aka ZDF-History. Documentary series, 2000 - still running
-Year: 2011
-Year in film: ~1960s
-Country: (East) Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~6-11, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low ?
-Rating:  5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: Some East German boys obviously in Lederhosen at least with suspenders (pictured). Episode "Die sieben größten Lügen der Geschichte". One or two other boys sitting (only headshots) later at least one younger boy outside at a playground, but far in the distance.

Had just been aired. Unfortunately I have only seen the last 5 minutes. And I don't know any other episode yet. Usually I don't watch documentaries (at least not if not sure of Lederhosen images). Host: Guido Knopp. This (part ?) of this episode is about the lie of not building the Wall of Berlin. So probably East German boys of the early 60s or maybe late 50s. Historical vintage (personal) footage (home video), maybe also shown elsewhere. I have to check this again and other episodes.

Rating 5 for now.

Coming next an update of Liebe, Jazz und Übermut. Completely seen. Much better than thought. Also older boys but no smooth finish Lederhosen. Lot of Lederhosen scenes. Now rating at least 7 instead of 5. (Old entry, not updated yet, no new pics yet) Starring Peter Alexander, young Roland Kaiser (in jeans not in Lederhosen) and the boys choir Schöneberger Sängerknaben.

Le cheval d'orgueil

Drama, director Claude Chabrol
-Year: 1980
-Year in film: 1908-1918
-Country: France
-Who in clothing: boy ~10 ?, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: hist. clothing, hats, nightshirt
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low *
-Rating:  5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least a young boy (I don't know his name) in a short dark blue or black sailor suit and some boys in historical clothing of Brittany, some with black hats with a large ribbon (pic 3). Boys wearing wooden clogs. And of course grown-ups in historical clothing, especially women with rare white high caps (pic 3). Also 2 altar boys (white/red but short and small collars). The boy ripped off the front part of his sailor suit and says he owns another one. Very interesting other scenes. The boy on the shoulders on pic 3 must be Ronan Hubert as 7 yo Pierre-Jacques. His older brother playing 11 yo Pierre-Jacques.

As announced, but this time I missed the first ~30 minutes of this 2 hour movie as I couldn't receive this channel on afternoons. So I only noticed one short scene in the middle of the movie where the boy is being bullied because of wearing this sailor suit.

Other scenes are young boys smoking, fighting with their wooden clogs on their hands, pullig a girl at the pigtails, watching horses mating, and a brief swimming scene. The boy is being spanked by his dad while carried out of the water.

English title "The Horse of Pride", novel by Pierre-Jakez Helias. I don't know any of the actors and I think most of the movie is set in 1908. Rural setting and scenes of traditional living and working.

For the few sailor suit scenes, rating 5 for now only. The movie is quite interesting, but there are better ones. Rating 6-7 for the movie.

A Christmas Story 2

Christmas movie, sequel to the 1983 film
-Year: 2012
-Year in film: ~late 1940s
-Country: USA, Canada
-Who in clothing: Randy ~10 ?, girl, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: men, sailor
-Available on DVD: Oct 2012
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating:  3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: I think Valin Shinyei (pictured) in a silly and humiliating short sailor's costume, a girl in a sailor dress and at least one real sailor man (blue sailor suit).

I found this by coincidence during research. Probably everbody knows the 1983 movie starring Peter Billingsley (see my overalls blog, rating 3 for bibs scenes) and the famous tongue-stick-on-frozen pole scene. The sequel is set 5 years later, so late 40s or early 50s.

Of course I don't know this movie yet and have to update this after the release. Also starring 15 yo Braeden Lemasters as older brother Ralphie (on right), Daniel Stern and Stacey Travis.

Rating 3 for now.

The Blue Veil (1951)

Drama starring Jane Wyman, nominated for 2 Oscars
-Year: 1951
-Year in film: ~1918
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Stephanie ~13 yo, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ??
-Rating:  3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least 12 or 13 yo Natalie Wood (1938-1981) as 12 yo Stephanie in a white or light colored sailor dress, 2 stripes (pictured, a publicity still).

I found this by coincidence during research but there's only one short clip (without her). So I can't say much more about it. The scene looks quite interesting (being embraced). Set after WWI.

Also starring Charles Laughton, Joan Blondell and Vivian Vance. Jane Wymon won a Golden Globe.

I hope for a soon broadcasting and will update it.

Rating 3 for now. I think not released on either DVD nor VHS.

Poloska neskoshennych dikikh tsvetov

Drama / youth film
-Year: 1979
-Year in film: 1970s ?
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing: boys 8~16 yo, sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: medium
-Rating:  10/10
-Rating: **********
-Comment: Many older (teen) boys, mostly in white sailor suits, black long pants. Medium blue, very big and long collars with 3 stripes, no scarves, no hats. Striped dickeys. At the wrists 2 stripes. At least one boy in a blue sailor suit (last pic on the left). At least one very long scene in the middle of the movie. Boys even doing a sack race and the collars are flying up and down and some are partly turned over.

I don't had the time yet to watch the complete movie. I don't understand Russian either. The movie is about a home for bad boys. And the main character is raised without a dad. Not sure if spanking scenes, but it's possible.

Russian title :"Полоска нескошенных диких цветов" which means "A strip of uncut wild flowers". Directed by Ukrainian Yuri Ilyenko, starring Lyudmila Jefimenko, Jurassic Madzhula, Rehymantas Adomaytys, Z.Slavyna and Alesha Cherstov. 1979 Novel is called Brigantina (Бригантина) written by Oles Honchar. Sadly no infos on IMdb.

I have to check this further. Not sure if there is a DVD, probably not. 88 minutes.

Interesting film + teen boys with long collars + interesting scenes with flying up collars = rating 10.

Info 126: On TV: Le cheval d'orgueil

Had been aired yesterday. Rebroadcasting WED Sep. 12th on TV5.

Directed by Claude Chabrol. 1980. Very good historical clothing at least one brief scene with sailor suits. A boy is bullied because of wearing a sailor suit. I missed the first half of the movie (and recorded too late), so no better pic yet. (the only frame)

Info 125: Update: Heidemelodie - rating 10!

Story 54: Exclusive photo #23 sailor suit boy Kolberg flying collars

Another very good beach pic with flying collars. Must be Kolberg / Colberg, now Kołobrzeg 1930s. Blond boy with a bowlcut.

First I wasn't sure because of the flag. Kolberg was German then and the flag then black white red. Probably the black is a bit faded or there were different flags on the beach. I don't know much more and assume that this huge family was German.

Sometimes I'm not sure if I should change the colors of photos. Some pics are faded or too dark or too light and so I added the boy in it's original colors (top left) so the bowlcut can be better seen. I wonder if they noticed the collars flying up. But the photo speaks for itself.

I don't had the time yet to make new caps of Heidemelodie (coming next, very good also smooth finish Lederhosen).

Hochzeiter und Hochzeiterin

Drama period film, novel by Josef Ruederer
-Year: 1990
-Year in film: ~1900, later
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~12 yo ? hist clothing
-Who in clothing 2: boys ~ 9-11, men Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: medium *
-Rating:  6/10 *
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Some boys in historical clothing (1st pic) shorter pants, stockings, school caps (good suits, almost like sailor suits except for the typical collars) fighting at school, also one being being hit by a cane on his hands by the teacher. I think this must be the scenes set in about 1900, also scenes with few boys and some men in longer buckskin Lederhosen, later setting about 1950s. I only noticed this short Lederhosen scenes, some more hist. clothing scenes. Probably much more grown up scenes.

Some more pics here

http://www.tvtoday.de/entertainment/kino/film/hochzeiter-und-hochzeiterin,5024782,ApplicationGallery.html?page=21

Rare movie, had been aired some days ago for the first time. No entry at IMdb and no DVD yet. Directed by Andreas Lippl (died in 1991).

Starring Jens-Bastian Kindelbacher as young Josef, Claus Obalski as grown-up Josef, Stephanie Breme and Rainer Bauernfeind.

Unfortunately I missed the beginning but I assume rather few or medium good scenes. I have to check this again later and hope for a soon rebroadcasting.

But even rating 6 for now.

Info 124: Heidemelodie now running

Heimatfilm Heidemelodie is now running. Much better than thought Rating 8-9. Will be updated very soon

Heimatfilm starring Herta Staal

-Year in film: 1956
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boy ~11 yo ? pants with suspenders
-Who in clothing 2: woman, dress w. collar
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating:  2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: A blond boy with curly hair (I don't know his name) in long black traditional pants with brown smooth finish leather suspenders and a string tie (pictured), also singing (one short scene) and some other in those traditional black clothing of the Black Forest (in the distance, so nothing else notable). And a woman (maybe Herta Staal) in a long blue dress with a sailor like collar, red stripes, collar split at the backside.

The movie itself is maybe not so bad, but in fact no notable real Lederhosen scenes (of boys) maybe some older men in longer Lederhosen. However a good scene, as the boy is holding at his own suspenders (would also be a good story entry). Famous actors and singers like Bibi Johns, Wolfgang Wahl, Peer Schmidt, Willy Reichert and Maria Sebaldt.

Some women in typical Black Forest hats, but also few scenes, could be much better. Musical/comedy/comance. No drama Heimatfilm.

Rating 2.

Info 122: Update: Die Pferdekur

No I can provide some pics. Thanks very much Guillaume for your help! It was hard to select the best pics. And I still have to check the complete movie and don't know how many (good) Lederhosen scenes (maybe fewer than thought, but more actors). The best pic showing all 3 boys together is maybe the one I already linked (so no need to upload that as well).

I think that there are 3 boys in different Lederhosen. 2 smooth finish/nappa, thereof one with suspenders, and one in buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders, I think 2 zippers (2nd pic). Also riding scenes in Lederhosen (smooth finish).

Usually I like smooth finish Lederhosen, but I don't like too young and too thin actors. So this time I prefer the buckskin Lederhosen. Now rating (5-) 6 instead of 5. I still have to check more buckskin scenes, probably most like the other ones.

For more infos see it's entry (no more newer infos yet) at

Info 121: Blog theme part 2

Sorry, I will change the blog theme again. I've spent more than 1 or 2 hours to chose and optimize this theme but there's one big disadvantage. If you search for something or navigate via the tags the search results don't show complete text but collapse and showing no pics at all. You have to click on a read further ... button. Same for longer articles like the A-Z list. And this is not a bug but feature of the theme. I hope the next theme will be better.

Update: Same problem here. I will check the theme Strange Little Town tomorrow. And if that isn't better I probably choose the same as on my other blog. The staff still haven't fixed the bug in the theme Koi for many days now. They have almost 300 themes and only one is working? I wonder if the unfree themes are bug free (like the overlapping of the links sections).

http://www.kult-serien.tv/bilder/diepferdekur3.jpg

Thanks Guillaume for this suggestion. I couldn't find any other pics in Lederhosen and no clips at all. (Had been deleted on YouTube).

The boy on the right (on the linked pic) looks very young (maybe 5 yo) and wears Lederhosen with suspenders, probably smooth finish or nappa. The older boy on the left (maybe 9 or 10 yo, now I think maybe a bit younger) looks much more interesting. I'm not sure if this are shorts or buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders.

I can't say much more yet and hope that someone can help here giving some more infos or even provide a pic or short clip.

First shown on TV in 2007 and not released on DVD nor VHS. Maybe a banned film as well. I also don't know the names of the actors. Starring Walter Richter-Reinick. Filmed in 1968 and sometimes titled Die Pferdekur (1968), but I checked this as well.

Rating 5 for now (5-6 for the older boy and maybe other actors) but lower for the younger one.

Update: Now more infos and pics.

I think that there are 3 boys in different Lederhosen. 2 smooth finish/nappa, thereof one with suspenders, and one in buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders, I think 2 zippers (1st pic). Also riding scenes in Lederhosen (smooth finish).

Usually I like smooth finish Lederhosen, but I don't like too young and too thin actors. So this time I prefer the buckskin Lederhosen. Now rating 6-7 instead of 5. I still have to check more buckskin scenes, probably most like the other ones.

Meister Eder und sein Pumuckl

Family series, 52 ep in 2 seasons + 2 films
-Year: 1982-1989
-Year in film: 1982
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys, pants
-Who in clothing 2: shiny shorts
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: often *
-Rating:  4/10 *
-Rating: ****
-Comment: 2 boys (Rainer and Ralf-Dieter Weiß as Schorschi and Wiggerl), pictured in longer beige pants worn with a lether belt. I'm not sure about the farbic. First I thought of cotton, then buckskin leather, but maybe they are of cord fabric. At least alpine styled pockets. (Alpine) Bavarian setting and her mom in a Dirndl. And these Lausbuben fit into this blog. They are pulled at their hair after doing pranks. Maybe even light spanking in other episodes.

Pic is from ep. s1e6 (and they also appear at least in ep. 7 as well). Also good close-up views of faces and pants.

I don't remember all episodes but I think there might be also others in real Lederhosen.

At least 2 perfect episodes (rating 10) with shiny shorts (Adidas), one in tight light blue ones (s2e07 ?) and another boy in dark blue ones (s2e23). I also remember a winter episode with very good tight jeans. But this is a Lederhosen blog.

If someone knows other good episodes in real Lederhosen, please comment. Series is often rebroadcasted on different channels.

Famous animated leprechaun character (voice by Hans Clarin) , novels by Ellis Kaut and starring Gustl Bayrhammer (pictured on left).

This episode rating 4-5.

Info 120: New blog theme

I am currently trying new color / style themes as the old one (Koi) has changed again and it's now impossible to change the background color.

There are many themes for Wordpress.com, but not all are free, and many others have problems like overlapping or too narrow columns so some of the text is missing. (I wonder who programs such buggy themes). And you have to pay for other other colors, fonts and else. Many themes also don't have the possibility too chose an own header image. I want at least 200 pixels high. I try this one (Andrea) and have 2 others in mind Splendio and Strange Little Town (or the same as on my overalls blog). Not sure if you can change the pink color of Strange Little Town (it's not the real background).

If you encounter problems or missing some things, please comment.

Sorry for the inconvinience. The sidebar  is only possible on the left. The other pro is a much wider main space (check the exclusive pics, and also 2 screenshots are next to each other in one row).

But I'm still experimenting.

Sadly it's not possible to change the text color, so I can't use my original light green background color to keep it readable. It also should be possible to add a sticky post.

The Milton Berle Show (1966)

Comedy / musical show series (1948-1967)
-Year: 1966
-Year in film: 1966
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: women, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes ?
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating:  2/10 ?
-Rating: **
-Comment: At least some young women in navy/sailor clothing (pictured, and see clip). Long white collars without stripes (others in collars with 2 stars left and right at the backside) and sailor hats. No pants except for dark underwear. Maybe men in (real) sailor suits (in other episodes) as well?

Something completely different in between. Sorry to all who prefer boys in Lederhosen. But maybe someone is interested in this.

I don't know all the episodes and found this by coincidence during research on YouTube. I assume only few sailor dress scenes. Quite interesting sailor's clothing.

But I can't rate higher than 1-2 for now.
