This is my 2nd blog about feature films, TV series and documentaries with boys, girls, men and women in sailor suits, Lederhosen and other historical clothing of the 19th century and beyond. I collect informations, trailer videos, low-res images and personal comments/ratings. This blog was introduced in 2011. 2012-2020 on Wordpress. Now I'm back. Update will take a while.

Die kleine Lady
Family film starring Christiane Hörbiger
-Year: 2012
-Year in film: 1880s
-Country: Germany, Austria
-Who in clothing: Emily 9, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2: boy, traditional clothes
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: Philippa Schoene wearing a long medium blue sailor dress with a short white collar, 2 stripes. Matching blue dickey, no scarf. I only noticed one very brief scene in that sailor dress. There's also a poor boy acting but not in a sailor suit but brown or grey knickers or suit, later in a noble black suit. Very brief scenes as well. Sorry, I don't have a pic of that. Also the girl in lots of other clothes and dresses.
A female version of Little Lord Fauntleroy which had been aired on Christmas. English title: Little Lady. The Earl and Hobbs (Veronica Ferres) are also women here.
The movie is nothing special and of course I prefer the Lord Fauntleroy movies. Especially starring Rick Schroder.
Poor movie, very few scenes (showing sailor clothes and also boys).
So rating 1-2.

Weihnachten mit Rolando Villazón
Alpine Christmas choir show
-Year: 2014
-Year in film: 2014
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: boys ~11-13 Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: often
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: About 5 boys and younger teen boys in longer Lederhosen. At least one with H-style suspenders. Most have their jacket closed. One without H-style suspenders, one with a tie. Older teen boys in black suits and younger girls in traditional clothes (dresses).
As announced before I cannot receive the channel Bayerischer Rundfunk anymore which often shows alpine chistmas with choir boys in Lederhosen.
Yesterday this show had been aired, but I missed the first half. Can be watched again on the website of servustv.
Maybe I should have an eye of this next year. There are often new choirboys each year anyway. Choir must be "Salzburger Festspiele und Theater Kinderchor".
One handsome younger boy (Luca or Lucas, feminine looking).
Can't rate higher than 3-4 for some scenes of longer Lederhosen from a distance. Also close-up headshots but Lederhosen can't be seen there.

Info 190: Update: You Can’t Do That on Television
Like on my overalls blog (f/m, rating 6) I also found several more boys and girls in sailor suits, sailor dresses.
My favourite actor in this show is Doug Ptolemy (pic 2) in episode "Censorship".
Pic 1 showing Amyas Godfrey (low neckline, long collar flap also very handsome) in 1989 ep. "Cleanliness". Pic 3 is from the same episode also showing 2 girls in the middle (one other scene is with a dirty muddy boy). Chris Bickford on the right (saying: stupid sissy sailor suits) and I think Ted Wilson 2nd from left (very short neckline), Amyas on left. Pic 4 I found first. I think this is young Alasdair Gillis in ep. "Bullying" in a long blue white sailor suit with medium blue pants and dickey.
Also in sailor suit: Asian looking James Tung in ep. Censorship (few scenes).
Also the previously known boys and girls in sailor suits in ep. Censorship (see main entry rating 8).
Sailor suits seem of thin fabric and more like costumes. Stripes on the collars are not angled at 90 degrees but crossing each other and leading to the end of the collar. (I have sometimes seen it in French movies like Le temps des secrets).
And several shirtless scenes, scenes in underwear, shiny shorts, speedos etc.

Nahimovcy (1946)
Documentary

-Who in clothing: boys ~12-18, sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2:

-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Many, mainly younger teen boys in white and black sailor suits with blue collars in different shades of colors, mainly longer and wide collars (folded).
Russian title “Нахимовцы”. I’m not sure about the transliteration. This is a documentary about the naval school named after admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov. I haven’t found an entry on IMDb.
In total at least more than 2 hours.
Some good scenes, but I prefer color movies.

Info 189: Update Krempoli
I checked some more episodes of Krempoli - Ein Platz für wilde Kinder, and there is not just the blond boy in short grey Lederhosen but also in longer brown Lederhosen.
Next to a boy and girl in blue bib overalls there's also a boy in red overalls (and rubber boots).
I haven't checked all episodes of it. Was very famous in the 70s but appears quite poor nowadays. (Especially haircut and glasses), but Lederhosen (and handsome blond boys) are never out of style.
Still rating 6.

Nahimovskoe uchilishe (2004)
Documentary
-Year: 2004
-Year in film: 1940s-2000s
-Country: Russia
-Who in clothing: boys ~12-18, sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no ?
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: often
-Rating: 6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Several boys and younger teen boys, around 120 boys (shown at once from above in one frame) in different white and mainly dark blue sailor suits including dark blue long pants. Typical rather long and wide collar flaps (folded twice). Also a good bedroom scene, shirtless in bunk beds (soon on by other blog, rating 6).
Another (obviously a TV) documentary about the Russian Naval school named after Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov including footage of the 1976 movie (rating 6) and the 1946-1949 series (coming soon). Similar entries coming soon.
/2014/10/30/nahimovcy-1976/
Original Russian title "Нахимовское училище " 35 minutes, on YouTube, no entry on IMDb. Transliteration might be a bit different.
Here there are mosty younger teen boys show and not in black pants. Very interesting subject but rather few good scenes.
Rating 6 as well.

Des kleinen Lokführers große Fahrt
DEFA family film

-Who in clothing 2: shorts, speedos, girl skirtalls
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 3/10

-Comment: At least this young boy in buckskin medium brown Lederhosen (without suspenders, maybe with 2 zippers at the side). Several other young boys in shorts and speedos and a girl in dark blue skirtalls or a jeans dress (on my overalls blog, rating 3 as well).
I think I have seen this movie some years ago but can't remember all scenes.
Obviously a typical East German family movie with mainly very young actors. 64 minutes only.
I have to recheck it the next broadcasting but think very few (good) Lederhosen scenes.
So rating 2-3 for now only. Nothing special (at least not concerning Lederhosen).

-Comment: A young boy in a sailor suit (or at least a collar), very brief scene at a fureal and some other interesting historical clothes. Shorter grey pants with long black stockings (or tights).
Also a nice bedroom scene (bedroom blog, rating 5).
I first had this entry on my western blog, rating 4. There are better movie.
Aka Dan Candy’s Law. Based upon a true story.
Rating 2-3.

Story 94: US 4-H girl in sailor dress , boy sailor suit
During research for my one-room schoolhouse pics for my bib overalls blog I found this pic. First I thought that this is a boy. Sorry.
It's quite rare wearing a sailor dress at the 4-H (a kids farm organisation). And there are very few sailor suit pics on loc.gov.
The only one I don't already had is the following from 1905 Washington. Not sure if this is an American boy. Also note the hats on both pics.

Söndagsbarn
Drama by Ingmar Bergman
-Year: 1992
-Year in film: 1920s
-Country: Sweden, others
-Who in clothing: boys ~7-10 sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2: Pu 9, shorts
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: 3 boys in different sailor suits. Also a boy wearing shorts with a belt and suspenders.
During research for my western blog I found a "most wanted on DVD list" on IMDb. This is on TOP 1 with foreign language. In the meatime this and some others have been released on DVD and or BD. It's also completely on YouTube but I only have checked it briefly at high speed.
I only noticed some few scenes with the boys in sailor suits at the beginning only. The young boy on the very left wearing a short blue collar, then next to him an older boy wearing a white collar and in the middle a boy wearing a dark blue sailor suit. They went into the house climbing upstairs and their back is partly shown. The blue collars are short. I haven't noticed the white one which seems much more of interest (I have to recheck it). Then they are sitting at a table and some close-up views but only party and sometimes blurry.
Also interesting is the boy (Henrik Linnros as Pu Bergman) wearing belt and suspenders at the same time what is very rare.
Some other scenes of interest like an undressing, shirtless and a toilet scene (not involving sailor suits).
Quite interesting but typical Swedish movie. Directed by Daniel Bergman. Partly an autobiography of the Bergman's family.
I bought Fanny och Alexander but wouldn't buy this one. English title "Sunday's Children". Reminds me of Alla vi barn i Bullerbyn.
Few sailor suit scenes. Rating 4 only.

Der Meineidbauer (2012)
Modern Heimatfilm starring Günther Maria Halmer
-Year: 2012
-Year in film: 2010s
-Country: Germany, Austria
-Who in clothing: boys ~9 Lederhosen ?
-Who in clothing 2: men Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 2/10
-Rating: **
-Comment: One young uncredited boy in traditional clothing (together with a girl). The short pants appear to be of soft buckskin leather. Also rear view while walking but one brief scene near the beginning only. Lederhosen have no decorations and no suspenders (at least not shown, maybe below the shirt but I don't think so). Also some few older men in real Lederhosen and bib overalls.
Had been aired yesterday. I previously just had an entry of the 1956 version (rating 2 as well).
/2011/09/04/der-meineidbauer-1956/
The plot is quite good and exciting with a mean Halmer, also starring Suzanne von Borsody and Heikko Deutschmann. Also starring an older teen girl and teen boy, but not in traditional clothes.
Typical modern Heimatfilm with alpine landscape setting and much drama. Novel by Ludwig Anzengruber (1839-1889) but now in a modern setting like the 50s movie.
Very brief scene and young boy, so rating 2 only. At least another Heimatfilm and Lederhosen entry. The movie itself is a bit better, but also nothing special (rating 3-4). There are lots of modern Heimatfilms.

Nahimovcy (1976)
Documentary
-Year: 1976
-Year in film: 1970s ?
-Country: Russia
-Who in clothing: boys ~12-18, sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often
-Rating: 6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Several teen boys (mostly older teen boys) in typical blue long sailor suits, 3 white stripes. Medium blue collars.
Russian title "Нахимовцы". I'm not sure about the transliteration. This is a documentary about the naval school named after admiral Pavel Stepanovich Nakhimov. I haven't found an entry on IMDb. There is also a b&w series (1946-1949) and some other modern movies on YouTube (coming soon). The school is still active and even now accepting girls. Completetly on YouTube but just 28 minutes.
I like these Russian style medium blue collars. They are also often quite long and wide. Note the multiple times folded collars on pic 1+3. Pic 1 showing a younger teen boy crying and pic 3 a dancing scene. Also nice touching the collar flap. Striped dickeys (or shirts) and dark blue suits.
Good movie with lots of interesting scenes including some younger handsome boys and collars flying up.
I have some other entries set on Russian naval school ships or starring younger marine boys, some playing during WWII (blog search for navy, naval, marine).
Sekretnyy farvater (rating 10), Yunga severnogo flota (rating 4) and also an US movie Lord Jeff, rating 10 and some few others.
Quite interesting but I prefer feature movies.
Rating 6.

Églantine
Drama starring Valentine Tessier
-Year: 1972
-Year in film: 1890
-Country: France
-Who in clothing: Frédéric 11, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: girl hist. clothes
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: medium ?
-Rating: 5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least this young uncredited boy in at least different short sailor suits. A white blouse and collar (3 dark blue stripes) and a blue white striped shirt with a dark blue collar. Dark blue short pants each. Also many different hats, caps and even a black top hat. Some girls (I think 3) in similar clothes but maybe not in real sailor dresses.
Quite interesting but looks a typical French period movie. Directed by Jean-Claude Brialy.
I haven't seen the complete movie and have to recheck it later. But I assume rather few good (sailor suit) scenes. There are definitely better (French) movies with more handsome blond actors (see rating 10 tag).
Rating 5-6 for now only.

Držanje za vazduh
Drama
-Year: 1985
-Year in film: 1980s?
-Country: Yugoslavia
-Who in clothing: Milan ~7 ?
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: At least this (orphaned) young boy (probably Marko Vojinovic as Milan) in a short white sailor suit. Also shower scenes without clothes. Underwear and probably shorts and other pants.
Original title "Држање за ваздух", English title "Holding the Air". Directed by Zdravko Sotra.
Quite interesting movie but probably most watch it for other reason than sailor suits. And I think very few scenes with that sailor suit..
Maybe I have even seen this movie but can't remember the sailor suit scenes. I'm not sure about the year of setting. Are these flashback scenes (after WWII?) but probably most scenes are set in the 80s?
Scenes at around 18 minutes. On YouTube.
For sailor suit scenes rating 3-4 for now only.

-Who in clothing 2: lace collar
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: often ?
-Rating: 5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: British Charles Miller (Davy) and Leo Wheatley in kilts. Also other clothes. Pants with suspenders and lace collars. This is a remake from the 1953 movie (I have to check that one).
I recently found this interesting movie. This blog is about historical and traditional clothing and I already have others showing kilts (The Drum (1938), My Life So Far, and Schloss Einstein (see List 17)).
Sorry, I can't say much more about this movie and have to recheck it. Theres also at least one boy being bathed in a tin washtub.
Please also note my 4th blog about western clothes.

Die Squaw Tschapajews
DEFA family film
-Year: 1973
-Year in film: 1970s
-Country: East Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~7-11 Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: often ?
-Rating: 6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Some boys in short and long, tight brown buckskin Lederhosen (not sure about the fabric) with and without H-style suspenders. Maybe some are even smooth finished Lederhosen or nappa. Also cycling scenes. Partly b&w. Sorry, no pics yet.
I haven't seen the movie (maybe I have long time ago) and so have to recheck it later.
Looks very interesting. Typical East German movie but Lederhosen scenes might be better than in most other East German movies. Also quite handsome boy actors.
Directed by Günter Meyer ("Der Dolch des Batu Khan", "Spuk am Tor der Zeit").
I wonder why this movie isn't yet available on DVD. Probably it will be released like all the others?
Rating 6 for now
October 5, 2014
Yunga severnogo flota
War drama
-Year: 1974
-Year in film: 1942
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing: boys ~15-18, sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: often
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Many, mostly older teen boys and young sailor men in white and black sailor suits. Light blue and dark blue, often long collars with 3 stripes and striped dickeys.
I found this on YouTube during research. Many teens, there are some scenes with about 70 boys outside, wearing white suits and black hats .
English title "Sea Cadet of Nothern Fleet" Russian title "Юнга Северного флота" and is based on true events during WWII.
Some good scenes, also swimming in sailor suits and also shirtless scenes and dark shorts (underwear ?) but it's rather a typical Russian naval war drama of it's time.
Most boys are old and not very handsome. There are better similar movies with younger boys.
So rating 4-5. Maybe I have missed some good scenes?

El coche de pedales
Family film
-Year: 2004
-Year in film: 1959
-Country: Spain, Portugal
-Who in clothing: boy ~11, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low
-Rating: 5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least this visiting boy in a white sailor suit, wide, dark blue, good and typical collar and dark blue short pants. It's not the main character who is shown on pic 1 on the very left. Late setting but typical festive suit in Spain.
I only noticed one rather short scene at 44 minutes.
Finally I found this movie online. I even considered buying the DVD.
But obviously only few good scenes and the movie is also very weak. So instead of rating 9 just 5-6.
English title "The Pedal Push Car".

-Who in clothing 2:

-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least this unknown boy in a white sailor suit rarely combined with blue jeans. Short white collar.
Russian title "Мой первый друг". 63 minutes. Gorky Studios.
Sorry, I can't say much more about this movie. I don't like the 70s, curly hair and the other clothes and don't understand Russian. I think few scenes with that sailor collar.
Rare clothes, maybe an interesting movie but rating 2-3 only.

Story 93: Sailor collar: eye catcher and distraction
One other interstesting thought. After rewatching Le temps des secrets (pictured, rating 8, after Marcel Pagnol), I found this scene at 24 minutes and I thought again about the purpose of a sailor collar.
Richard Oiry wearing white clothes and only the blue collar is different (also funny how it is folded by the wind).
Maybe the collar should lift the eye sight and deflecting from other, lower body parts? Remember Catholic or other religions and moral thoughts in these early days.
Younger kids were mostly clothed by their parents (moms) and the main purpose for a sailor suit was maybe the pride for the Marines and to look alike. See also other story entries, especially
/2012/01/18/story-16-sailor-collars-types-2-and-purpose/
and blog search for "wind" "flying" and "blowing".
I also have updated the previous story entry and a pic about a folded collar. (Sorry no more Lederhosen yet).

Info 188: Oktoberfest 2014
There will be some more programs, shows and movies the next 2 weeks, like every year, of course most of interest on Bayern 3 and 3sat and I try to find any interesting stuff and will announce it asap.
Unfortunately I can't receive Bayern 3 anymore but will check that as well and maybe watch something online and try to find and watch as much as possible.
(some, inclompete)
SA 20th 11:00 Die Lindenwirtin vom Donaustrand (not on DVD) rating 2
Sunday 21th at 10:00 as usual the Trachten- und Schützenzug.
SU 21th (night) Kirschen in Nachbars Garten (1935), I only have 1956 movie, rating 6.
SU 28th 13:00 ff documentaries
SU 28th Das Erste "Der Mann mit dem Fagott", rating 7 (2 parts)
Story 92: Folded or ironed sailor collars
Most sailor collars are plain and ironed, also most of real sailor men I've seen.
Recently "Men of Honor" (2000, pictured) starring Robert De Niro had been aired. One sailor wearing a white suit and a white collar (without stripes) which had been folded 4 times.
I wonder why it hadn't been ironed like the rest of the suit. Maybe due to space limitations on a ship? I have to verify that. Most (movies with) young boys I've seen wearing sailor suits and ironed collars.
But I think I have seen som few boys with folded collars as well (but I think on a ship too, maybe a high rated Soviet movie). I also have seen a collar, folded in the middle.
I prefer ironed collars or at least long collar flaps. I have to recheck some movies and my caps (which or on a different HD).
The movie also showing a boy in bib overalls (even underwater), rating 3 (story 78 entry) on my other blog.
Another story entry involving boys and sailor collars coming soon.
Update: Pic below is from Sekretnyy farvater (rating 10) with a collar folded in the middle.
Multipe times folded collar in Nahimovcy (1976), rating 6.

Hohe Tannen
Heimatfilm starring Gerlinde Locker

-Who in clothing 2: men, Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Some young men/older teen boys in longer pants (maybe buckskin leather) with H-Style suspenders, also at least one young men/older teen boy in short brown Lederhosen (without suspenders, see link) and at least one young boy in light grey Lederhosen without suspenders (probably the same boy as seen in the pic in the background between the 2 guys in Lederhosen).
One better, other pic 9 at
http://www.cinema.de/bilder/hohe-tannen-koehlerliesel,1316323.html
I'm not sure if I have seen that movie (aka Köhlerliesel) and I have only seen one brief clip recently. So I have to recheck it again the next broadcasting. But I doubt that I would like it. Rating 2-3 for now.
Starring Pero Alexander, Anita Gutwell, Harald Dietl and many others.
Originally I was searching for "Heimweh... dort wo die Blumen blüh'n" (1957, aka Heimweh dort wo die Blumen blühn / blühen). I think there are interesting scenes, not sure about Lederhosen. But I still couldn't find that for a long time. Update: No Lederhosen there.
Sorry, I haven't seen something interest involving Lederhosen, maybe shortly during the Oktoberfest.

Frog Dreaming (1986)
Adventure film starring Henry Thomas
-Year: 1986
-Year in film: 1980s
-Country: Australia

-Who in clothing 2: Jane overalls, boys jeans
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: One girl, probably Tamsin West ("Round the Twist)" in a white blouse and a white sailor collar. Scene at about 12 minutes. Also later in light blue bib overalls (on my other blog, rating 5).
I guess it's quite rare for older kids to wear sailor dresses or just sailor style clothes and that combined with regular jeans.
I like this rare movie (and of course prefer Henry Thomas here). Movie aka "The Quest", "The Go-Kids" and The Legend of Frog Dreaming.
For more infos see my overalls blog.
I prefer real sailor suits. Brief scenes, so rating 2-3. (Movie rating at least 6-7.) Currently available on YouTube.

-Comment: At least these 2 young women in blue and green sailor dresses dancing. Long collar flaps and straw hats. Also 2 young boys in blue jeans bib overalls (see my other blog rating 4, one is pictured on the far right). Also boy(s) in other clothes and men in jeans and chaps. There are many supporting actors and there might be others in sailor suits or other historical clothes (maybe long leather pants or similar).
Quite interesting.
I like western movies but haven't checked it completetly and have to wait for the next broadcasting to check also if other scenes of interest.

-Who in clothing: Peterle ~7, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: boys ~7,10 speedos, men Lederhosen, women bibs
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: low
-Rating: 5/10

-Comment: Had been aired yesterday as announced. 2 blond brothers but it was the younger one (played by 6 or 7 yo René Gartler) in long buckskin Lederhosen. Also cycling in Lederhosen but from a distance only. Some few men in Lederhosen (outside festival).
I missed the beginning but obviously only few scenes. Pic 2 showing one scene at the end. Also both in speedos. One women in bib overalls milking (soon on my other blog).
Typical modern romantic Heimatfilm with some drama at the end. Also starring Ottfried Fischer, Herbert Fux and Andreas Mannkopff (though not very funny scenes).
Few scenes, long Lederhosen, young actor, so rating 5-6 only. Rated 8 watching pic 1 at the announcement. At least another Lederhosen entry.

Die Jugendstreiche des Knaben Karl
Comedy film, Biography starring Robert Seidl
-Year: 1977
-Year in film: 1897
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~8-10 sailor suits
-Who in clothing 2: girl ~8 sailor dress, trad. clothes, uniforms
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurrence: very low
-Rating: 5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: Had just been aired. (I have checked it before, but not completely and so I missed these few scenes which are at the very end of the movie).
2 boys sitting, rear view one with a blue wide and short collar, the other, right next to him with a long collar flap and a cap. Pic 2 showing a boy with a very long light blue collar and white stripes. One scenes later his front is shown, not close up (first I thought that this is a different boy). The collar appears a bit darker and he doesn't wear a scarf. The collar appears to be attached to the jacket and the jacket has buttons. One girl in a dark blue sailor-like dress (pictured just behind the boy). But she has no collar or a very short one. Also of course lots of others (mainly grown-ups and mainly women) in historical clothes including flat straw hats and men in firefighter uniforms.
Quite funny movie but there are much better ones. Robert Seidl as 15 yo Karl Valentin has a weird haircut and isn't handsome. There are some similar movies like the Ludwig Thoma /Hansi Kraus movies, but they are much better and more famous (also see my first entry, rating 8).
Some famous actors including Walter Sedlmayr, Gustl Bayrhammer, Beppo Brem and Hans Clarin. I wonder why that is not put on DVD.
Rating 5-6. Good sailor suits but very few good scenes. No close-ups.

Buffalo Bill and the Indians, or Sitting Bull's History Lesson
Western starring Paul Newman
-Year: 1976
-Year in film: ~1870s
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Annie ~31, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2: boy, hist. clothes
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 2/10 ?
-Rating: **
-Comment: At least this young woman, I think 31 yo Geraldine Chaplin as Annie Oakley in a long blue greyish sailor-style dress including a long collar, wide dark blue stripes and a straw hat. Of course also others in historical clothing and at least one young boy (pic 2) also wearing a hat (I can't identify the rest of his clothes). Looks like a jacket also with stripes.
As told on my bib overalls blog, I'm still into Westerns. I searched a lot and there are few good movies (showing boys in overalls). There are many movies also showing boys (in historical clothes) and some are very good (like "River Of No Return") but unfortunatley not a question for my blogs. (Probably some kids wearing pants made from leather).
I have to check out this Western the next broadcasting but probably there are better Westerns. Pic 1 is from a Behind The Scenes clip. The others are from clips from the movie. Directed by Robert Altman.
Rating 2 for now.

A világ legrosszabb gyereke
TV family film
-Year: 1987
-Year in film: 1980s ?
-Country: Hungary
-Who in clothing: boys ~9, 11 Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: low
-Rating: 5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least this boy (Robert Kovacs?) in good short Lederhosen (or other material ?) with H-style leather suspenders and also bib overalls (see my other blog, rating 4). Also an older, darkhaired boy in long maybe buckskin leather bib overalls.
55 minutes and obviously not available on DVD. Title means The World's Worst Kids.
Currently I can't say much more about this movie and have to recheck it later.
Based on the 1973 novel by Nagy Katalin.
Not bad. Rating 5 for now. Short clip on YouTube.
Update: Completely checked. Unfortunately only one longer scene at the beginning only. But real Lederhosen and short. Look like dark blue, dark grey or (almost) black? Straps are dark brown. Rating 4-5. More scenes of the blonde boy in overalls. Update soon on my other blog.

Info 186: Update: Volny chernogo morya
I have seen some more parts of this long Soviet TV series (rating 7).
Next to a short white sailor suit this boy also wears a different pair in reverse colors (except the collar which is white on both) , so medium blue with white stripes. Also squared collar at front. Short collar flap on the back and also the straw hat. Matching white dickey and scarf with thicker stripes. White stockings and short pants. Also the girl with a flying white collar (ep 4 or ep 2 as well?) Pics of the boy from episode 2.
Russian title “Волны Черного моря” released in 1976, filmed in 1975, set in about 1905. This might be a sequel to “Beleet parus odinokiy” (1937) and I had this on my queue list as Beleet parus odinokiy (1957), so I wasn't sure about the right title and if I already had this. Funny scenes and funny straw hat. I prefer the white sailor suit, but like dark blue traditional collars and finer stripes.

Kaiserball
Romance starring Hans Moser
-Year: 1956
-Year in film: 1910s ?
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: boys ~7 sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: girl ~6 sailor dress, trad. clothes, uniforms
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating: 3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Had just been aired and I have seen all of it, some parts at high speed. Unfortunately I have recorded it too late. More a romance, comedy film and musical film than a Heimatfilm (although announced as such).
Near the beginning there are some little kids, a young boy in sailor suit and blue collar and a girl I think in a sailor dress walking next to marching men. Collar shown front and back. About 10 minutes later the scene pictured in a train.
The boy in a sailor suit look was singing.
Some men in traditional Austrian clothes, Heimatfilm scenes and men in monarchy uniforms. Women in dresses and historical costumes. No Lederhosen at all.
I have to recheck the beginning. Not bad but very young kids and very brief scenes.
Also starring Sonja Ziemann, Rudolf Prack and Paul Löwinger.
Rating 3.
Now on TV: Kaiserball
Confirmed boys and girls in sailor suits. Not sure about Lederhosen.
More Hans Moser movies later (not sure if scenes of interest). Most are comedy films and romances.
Update soon.

Med osy
Drama
-Year: 1991
-Year in film: 1945 ?
-Country: Belarus
-Who in clothing: Boris, Gleb ~6 sailor suits,
-Who in clothing 2: boy, shorts w/ suspenders
-Available on DVD: yes ?
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating: 3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least 2 very young boys, twins Boris and Gleb in short sailor suits. White blouses and stockings, dark pants, collars and hats. Collar flaps are very short. Also boy(s) in longer shors with suspenders, but obviously no Lederhosen, so no need for more pics or infos about that. Also bathing scenes without any clothes. The movie has color scenes as well as animation scenes.
I only have briefly checked this movie at high speed. Again, I don't understand Russian. Scenes at about 31 minutes. Shorts scenes at the beginning.
Not sure about the setting. Flashbacks (I think most of the movie) set after the War, I understand after WWII, although sailor suits were not very common in the mid 1940s, maybe more in the Eastern World.
Russian title "Мёд осы" what means Honey Wasp.
Rather few sailor suit scenes and I don't like the short collars.
So for sailor suit scenes rating 2-3. Probably other scenes are a bit more of interest.
