-Comment: Freddie Bartholomew (1924-1992), Mickey Rooney (1920-), Terry Kilburn (1926-), Peter Lawford (1923-1984) and a lot of other boys (I think only teens, at least 50, perhaps almost 100) in different sailor suits. Many boys in white sailor suits, dark (blue) collar, 3 stripes, also dark sailor suits, according to movie poster blue, with blue collars, 3 stripes and also collars without stripes, appears completely black. All pants full length. In fact they are all rather real sailor uniforms.

Rooney helped Kilburn dressing on his collar and also undressed his own one. I think I make a separate story entry of that scenes.

Finally another 10 rating movie. I have to give a 10 rating because of several reasons. I have never seen a movie with - so many teens in sailor suits, 3 different sailor suits, so many sailor suit scenes, and with so much dressing/undressing scenes showing the complete collar technique. Also one of the most famous child actors of the 30s and also a good plot about 4 boys (orphans) going to a marine school. Good scenes of 2 rowing contests (blue, later white suits) and the game musical chairs and other actions. Rooney and Batholomew also fighting in a corn field in dark sailor suits and getting dirty.

Originally I searched for the other versions of Little Lord Fauntleroy and found an image of this film. I don't like Rooney; Bartholomew is quite good, but I like this movie very much. Bartholomew also kissing a woman.

There is no (official) DVD nor VHS release yet. I wonder why. Also no streaming clips webwide. A nearly perfect (sailor suit) movie, although not my favorite of my 10 rated. This movie would also be worth to be colorized.

Pics showing small 12 yo Kilburn on top (the youngest boy has the longest collar, also with a missing tooth), then Rooney and Bartholomew (small pic left), one of the longest collars, dressing on collar and collars without stripes.
