No entry on IMDb. He also starred in other movies in sailor suit and overalls. (Other blog: Peck's Bad Boy (1921) rating 4).

Erste Begegnung (1992) is also nice starring handsome Benjamin Zobrys.  Is this from series Der Patenonkel? I have him in Kartoffeln mit Stippe (sailor suit rating 10 f/m).

–Comment: 2 older boys, in long sailor suits, one in white and another one in dark blue with white collar. The boy in white (and the girl) also undressing and swimming. Later a very young boy with a very large and long collar flap, very high at front (pic 3). 

Based on adventure novel "The Master of Ballantrae" by Robert Louis Stevenson, set in ~1860s (according IMDb). The novel starting in the 1740s. First movie was released in 1953 (color starring Errol Flynn), there are also some other versions which I haven't checked (maybe none has boys ?). 

Rather few (good) sailor suit scenes.

Rating ~4-5 for sailor suits. Movie itself maybe a bit higher.

Children of Germany: in the Rhineland

 

As announced, I recently found this 16mm documentary (French version). Aka Children of the Rhineland (1955). Aired in France under Enfants d'Allemagne. I think some scenes were aired under Unser Rhein (but in b&w but sharper details).

11 minutes. Directed by Milan Herzog. Encyclopaedia Britannica Film. There are some more details on the YouTube description. Even the names of the boys and the village are described: Peter Müller, cousin Hans, friends Kurt and Walter, Kaub on the Rhine, going to Spitzer Stein St. Goar. Surprisingly this is in (faded) colors.

There's also another version on YouTube by HuntleyFilmArchives (Children of the Rhineland 1950's). I have some other movies on my overalls blog (List 62: LCA, EB and similar Educational Films). Encyclopædia Britannica, EB Films, previously ERPI Classroom films. No entry on IMDb.

I got a suggestion for a playlist about bib overalls. (See other blog and upcoming post there). I only have checked few movies there (rating 9-10). But I first checked another YouTube channel called "The Art of Film on 16mm" with at least one movie in the other playlist.

There are some very interesting movies, some from German company FWU, others from Bettkantengeschichten (including ep 47 Im Versteck , Mein Freund Arno (new pics there, smooth finished or nappa but b&w). Rating up to 8. Also some few of Sesamstraße, Achterbahn (1992), Neues aus Uhlenbusch, Anderland, Karfunkel, Rappelkiste, etc.  

1950s-1990s, but mainly 1980. Also non-German movies like from the USA. Some documentaries.

I haven't checked them all. Also some on my other blog. Her some new ones

Handsome boy: Erste Begegnung (Benjamin Zobrys). Longhaired boy: Annes erster Kuss. Maybe I missed some good ones. Probably also new upcoming uploads.

Teen boy Friedrich is played by Michael Nigro (pic 2 top right). Some good scenes. Unfortunately no Lederhosen scenes like in the original movie (rating 8).

There is also a 2015 movie with the same title and many stage plays and musicals. 

I have some other version, search for Sound of Music. And the original movies Die Trapp-Familie (rating 10) starring Michael Ande. And die Trapp-Familie in Amerika (I own both on DVD). I haven't linked them all in other posts and most pics are still tiny. (Sorry, I don't have larger pics on my current PC).

Blondie Brings Up Baby

–Comment: Larry Simms in a dark blue long sailor suit and jacket. Brief scene. Also often in shortalls in other earlier episodes (soon on my other blog, rating ~3). There's also one colorized film.

Also many young and older boys of the Robert Mitchell's Boys Choir in beige or similar shorts and dark scarves looking like boy scouts in Blondie in Society (1941).

The last movie is in 1950 and the boy is much older then but I think not in shortalls and sailor suit anymore. There are also 2 later series. I haven't checked them all. 

Book: Rolf Ulrici: Die Räuberschule

 

I recently found this 60s book cover depicting a boy in Lederhosen with H-style suspenders. Illustrations by Walter Rieck and Atelier Herbert Lorenz (not sure about the cover illustrator). Maybe the illustrations inside don't have Lederhosen.

One of my favourite 70s authors. He did Western books but especially Sci-Fi like the "Monitor" series and related series like "Erdrakete Giganto" and Weltraumklipper. Main character is a blond clever boy with glasses "Superhirn". I will continue reading these books.
