This is my 2nd blog about feature films, TV series and documentaries with boys, girls, men and women in sailor suits, Lederhosen and other historical clothing of the 19th century and beyond. I collect informations, trailer videos, low-res images and personal comments/ratings. This blog was introduced in 2011. 2012-2020 on Wordpress. Now I'm back. Update will take a while.

-Comment: At least some German and French boys in different sailor suits. Long collars, also flying up collars. All pics from ep. 1. Also diffent hats including larger straw hats. Also showing soldiers (in green uniforms) and other grown ups including women and girls in historical clothing. I have seen girls in white dresses but haven't noticed any girls in sailor dresses (yet). Also sailor men (in s1e3).
Very interesting colorized documentary about WWI and WWII. The first colorized I've seen and the first in HD. I missed the beginning. Episodes 1 and 2 will again be rebroadcasted at 18.30 and later new episode 3.
The favourite game of the boys was "playing War" with wooden guns.
I have to check the other upcoming episodes as well. Documentary and novel by Guido Knopp (his last docu). Sönke Neitzel again often explaining between the footage like in other documentaries I have here.
Rating 6 for now.
Update: 1st season of 3 episodes now completely seen. No notable scenes in ep. 2. Episode 3 has even more boys in sailor suits and also some teens in one group (still WWI, I think in 1918) some also with H-style suspenders but no Lederhosen, and about 3 younger boys alone in different scenes. Also sailor men (but collar flaps not really shown).
First I wasn't sure if there are really 8 episodes. Season one has this 3 episodes about WWI. So 5 episodes still to come later (unknown date), not sure if they are already produced. Maybe there are even more interesting scenes later, but there are many other movies about WWII (even colorized).
