  1. Just now watched the movie on 3sat (again) and wholeheartedly agree with your rating from 2011. Certainly a rating 9 and well deserved.

The "dreiviertellangen Kniebundlederhosen" together with the green "Bundhosenstrümpfe" look great on the boy and suit him and other people in the movie very well.

I wouldn't actually call it "a spanking scene". It was just a light slap on the lederhosen-clad bottom, to remind the boy to obey and do his home-work.

Overall a nice movie well worth looking at again.

Boys of today should more often be made to wear lederhosen - short and breeches length - as they used to wear through the years! For comfort, style and good looks. And that doesn't mean only in "Trachtenverein" but in general - for school and leisure time as well.

  2. Today I've only seen the end. But that's the best scene anyway.

Good rear and front view, but I prefer a bit older actors and shorter smooth finish Lederhosen.

That's very rare for a Heimatfilm, so rating 9 is OK.

Today's fashion is of course sad. At least there are Oktoberfests, Trachtenvereine and movies.

  3. Hi admin,

I agree with your favourite style of lederhosen.

Well, I was wearing lederhosen (short and knee-length - "Dreiviertellange Kniebundhosen") myself when I was younger and they were of the "modern, sporty" style; not the folkloric "Trachten"-style usually depicted in Heimatfilms.

To give you an idea about the style here's an example of a perfect style lederhosen (not me in the picture, but the lederhosen style was the same)

... and for my Kniebundlederhosen .... they looked like these

  4. The first pic is very good. But I don't like too tight pants.

I also don't like long, and too tight pants (especially not if black and shiny, buckskin is OK) but of course depends on the person wearing them. Nowadays I also don't like too thin guys.

Vintage pics and catalogues are always interesting.
Boys and men often wore short Lederhosen after WWII (often too large). I can't remember having seen people in these long Lederhosen (especially not smooth finished leather or nappa), at least not in my region.

But this is a movie blog anyway.
