-Who in clothing: Joselito ~13
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurrence: medium
-Rating: 6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Child actor and singer Joselito in different sailor suits, short and long. Maybe other actors in historical or similar clothes as well.

Pic 1 in a short white sailor suit (white shorts) and a typical blue sailor collar and white/blue sailor hat in one of the sequels "Aventuras de Joselito en América" (1960) aka Joselito in America. (According IMDb the same as Aventuras de Joselito y Pulgarcito (which seems a different movie in 1959).

The 2 other pics also showing a collar squared at the front in an unknown movie with the song Gracia y salero (maybe 1960 movie Escucha mi canción). Other sources say that this is 1958 movie. Also his birth date is sometimes 1943 or 1947. At least he should play a 9 yo but was 13 at his first movie in 1956 but not sure when it was filmed and when released. He can't be 19 yo in caballo blanco ("The White Horse"). I'm a bit confused and so this is about all Joselito films.

Looks quite interesting but I have to check all the parts. There is also a bedroom scenes (2 boys sharing one bed, soon on my bedroom blog, the other probably Purgacito in Aventuras de Joselito y Pulgarcito).

  1. Hallo,
I wonder what is the reason for the fascination that the Americans, English and many others have for "Lederhosen". I am German and as a child and now as an adult still wear Trachten which includes Knee or Short Lederhosen, Both my sons, 11 and 13, do so as well, without any complex! We are from near to Passau, in Bayern. Perhaps here in Germany, away from the big cities, tradition is not considered to be outdated! Interesting site! I found it looking for an online Trachten selling website for an American friend and his family!

  2. Thanks for your story. I'm German too.
Small towns in Bavaria are definitely different than large cities.

  3. Hallo,
"German" sowie Deutsche einwohner, der die Deutsche sprache spricht, oder im Ausland lebende Deutscher mit doppelte Staatsangehörigkeit?

Whatever, we have some of the films you cite here either on VHS or on DVD, I grew up in a very traditional German culture which both my sons have by their own choice adopted. I am back at sea in a few days (Captain of a Research Ship) but my sons, are trying to find some of the films which were based in Bayern or Austria.
Interesting site almost a reference book of German cinema at its best.
    Happy Christmas
    Wolfram.

  4. Thanks. I'm German, born and living here.
There seems to be a wide culture of German in the US. No wonder due to the immigrants and Oktoberfest.

Somtimes even more than in Germany itself. I searched for some movies some time ago and couldn't find any of these here but VHS available in the USA.
Many are often rebroadcasted from time to time or available on DVD or YouTube.
