Auf der grünen Wiese (1953)

aufdergruenenwieseaufdergruenenwiese2

Heimatfilm
-Year: 1953
-Year in film: 1930s ?
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: men in Lederhosen, uniforms
-Who in clothing 2: boys in Lederhosen ?
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium ?
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: At least some young men in Lederhosen also dancing including Schuhplattler. Looks like at least one man in black smooth finish Lederhosen.  I think I've also seen some young boys in Lederhosen in the background. Some musicians in historical uniforms (firemen ?).

Had just been aired. Unfortunately I have only seen the last 30 minutes. And hope for a soon rebroadcasting.

Good and funny and typical movie of it's time including comedy and music. Starring Hans Holt and Rudolf Carl. Directed by Fritz Böttger. Czech operetta by V. Tolarsky. There is also a 1971 remake (which I also have to check and also seems to be rare). Not sure about the setting. Either ~1936  (operetta and cars) or 1950s (maybe wrong props).

Can't rate any higher than 2-3 for now.

Papa's Delicate Condition

papasdelicatecondition

Comedy film. 1 Oscar
-Year: 1963
-Year in film: 1900s
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Corrie ~7 sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2: boy ~7, sailor suit, others, hist. clo.
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: very low ?
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Linda Bruhl in a short sailor dress, short medium blue skirt and collar. Red scarf. (But also wearing somethig else). At least one other girl is shown, probably more kids in the background. And of course grown-ups in historical clothing including hats. Also starring ~7 yo Barry Livingston in a medium blue sailor suit, short, dark blue collar and cap (but obviously only a short scene at church).

Sorry, I don't know/don't remember this complete movie and have to recheck it the next broadcasting.

Looks like a typical comedy movie of it's time. Which I usually like.

Starring Jackie Gleason, Glynis Johns and Charles Ruggles. Novel by Corinne Griffith.

Rating 3-4 for now.

Update: I've briefly checked this. Short and brief scene of the girl at the end. (I missed the boy this time but probably few and brief scenes as well). Rather rating 2-3.

The Edwardian Country House

edwardiancountryhouse edwardiancountryhouse2

Documentary mini series
-Year: 2002
-Year in film: 1913 ?
-Country: UK
-Who in clothing: Master Guy ~10, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: girls, boys, sailor suits, other clo.
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating: 4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: A young boy, I think Guy Olliff-Cooper in a short dark blue sailor suit, white collar, 3 thin blue stripes which are crossed at the edges. Also other boys and girls in white long sailor suits and traditional blue collars. Also of course lots of other people, mainly grown ups in Edwardian clothes. Series Aka Manor House.

Thanks very much for this suggestion! And sorry for the delay. I'm still very busy. I found this series earlier, but haven't noticed sailor suit scenes then. In fact I still only noticed very few scenes (but the first episode had been deleted on YouTube). Pics are from ep. 5. Suit is completely shown in ep. 2.

There are similar reality TV documentary series in Germany like

/2011/08/18/abenteuer-1900-leben-im-gutshaus/

I think few good scenes of the boy. Rating 4-5 for now. I don't like these kind of striped collars.

Exclusive pic#42 sailor suit boy 1905

This cabinet card from 1905 showing a young boy from Villingen, Germany in a dark (blue) sailor suit with a long collar flap. 3 thick stripes and some thinner stripes (see high-res). Traditional short hair. Nice garden scene with mom and sisters. Quite rare as this is not a studio photograph.

Sorry I don't have the time right now to remove the scratches. Maybe I will colorize it later.

Now on TV: Mord in bester Gesellschaft

Boy in black longer buckskin Lederhosen.

Probably few scenes in the background only.

Modern Heimatfilm, also younger men in Lederhosen. And also older man in bib overalls.

Can't say much more yet. On DasErste. Starring Fritz Wepper. Traditional Bavarian campfire party scenes at night.

I don't remember if I saw it completetly. At least I haven't noticed any more scenes.

Two Weeks with Love

twoweekswithlove twoweekswithlove2

Musical comedy film  starring Jane Powell
-Year: 1950
-Year in film: 1900s
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Ricky ~8, McCormick 13, suits, collar
-Who in clothing 2: bathing costumes, night shirts, overalls
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium
-Rating: 3/10 ?
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Tommy Rettig (as little Ricky) in a festive grey suit with a long collar flap, also he and Gary Gray and others in bathing costumes. Also in breeches, bib overalls, other stage costumes and female night shirts. Also lots of others (grown ups) in hostorical clothing including women with sailor like dresses. But no real sailor suits.

I missed some few minutes at the beginning but rather few good scenes with the kids (mainly the bathing costumes, also sitting on a beach). Also 2 short scenes in simple bib overalls (see my other blog, rating 4).

Quite funny movie but the kids are not too often shown. However good 1900s clothing and props, see also my bedroom blog.

More infos on both my other blogs.

Rating 3-4 for "sailor suits", rating 6-7 for bathing costumes. Movie rating 4-5.

On TV: Melodien der Berge

melodienderberge

Maybe of interest. A new episode of Melodien der Berge, this evening on German DasErste.

Probably no kid singers, but I think boys in Lederhosen shown in documentary clips. But there was a brief preview only, so I'm not sure. Definitely men in Lederhosen.

I already have an entry (different episode, rating 4, pictured)

/2012/10/07/melodien-der-berge/

Update: At least 2 boys in Lederhosen. 1 sitting (rating ~3). But no need for another entry. Probably available online on the official broadcasting page.
