-Comment: First, please note: This movie is very rare. I don't know this complete film and don't own it, so please don't ask.

I did a lot of research and there should be some VHS tapes titled "Les enfants pillards" for usage at schools in Germany. I don't know if this is true and if they are still available. But they probably wouldn't sell them either.
The film is about 6 boys (brothers, partly cousins) who spent their last summer in WWI alone in a house in rural France. For more about the plot there is the autobiographically novel "Les enfants pillards" which was published in 1978.
Picture top left showing 9 or 10 year old Julien Dubois as Jean-Baptiste (son of the director), there is also a younger, different actor of the same name. Also starring at least one of his brother in real life. I don't know the name of the other actors pictured.
White and blue sailor suits and also 1900s bathing costumes. Probably some more clothings and also other actors. Although I only saw some parts of this film I give rating 10. I like the actors. Julien Dubois also starred in "L'amour en fuite" (Truffaut, 1979), 1984 in short film "Place Clichy" (Paris vu par ... vingt ans après), also directed by his father, and in Scout toujours... (1985) and other films. I wonder why this film hadn't been released yet on DVD. Author, actor and director are famous.

I found 2 more pics to show the sailor suit of the main character. At bottom left his collar can seen entirely. Complete blue collar without stripes, wide scarf like the others. Striped dickey. At bottom right a white buttoned jacket for outside, dark blue collar with 4 stripes and a black or dark blue sailor's hat. I don't like collars without stripes and he looks strange with that hat. But obviously that is historically correct.
As I don't know the complete movie it's possible that he and the others also wearing other sailor suits or even other clothes. (Update: I don't think that they wore other clothes. Someone said that the movie doesn't start at home like in the novel but driving to the holiday home. For more infos see the comments.)

I hope that there will be a DVD, I would buy it or at least a broadcasting.

  2. Thanks for commenting.
For this blog I am mainly interested in the beginning, which I don't know at all and the sailor suit scenes.

I'm not sure if you consider uploading it or already did. I haven't found it on the web. Probably a lot of people would be interested. Personally I would only buy a regular DVD release.

I would appreciate if you could upload some pics or clips of the beginning somewhere or if you could describe here the plot or sailor suit scenes.

To everyone who might be interested in this movie, note that this blog is not be intended for trading.

I WON'T PUBLISH COMMENTS CONCERNING TRADING.

Nor email adresses nor download links.

  4. Someone posted a website where there should be pics of this movie. But there weren't any.

A short plot summary also doesn't help me.
As I told, I need a detailed description of the beginning.

  6. Thanks. But I still can't see any pics there.

Maybe you have to be registered or they had been deleted. However I found some few pics elsewhere under the German title "Im letzten Sommer des Krieges".
I still don't know if they wore other clothes or other sailor suits at the beginning, but I don't think so.

At least someone owns this movie and it is, or better was around. So there's hope to see the film or some more pics maybe at some time.
