Die Alpenklinik

Drama film series, 5 films yet
-Year: 2006-
-Year in film: 2008
-Country: Germany, Austria
-Who in clothing: Frederik ~ 11 ys,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating:  5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: I think Benjamin Felix Meyer (pictured) in longer light brown buckskin Lederhosen and an orange shirt in "Die Alpenklinik - Aus heiterem Himmel".

Also starring Erol Sander, Anica Dobra and Sigmar Solbach.

I don't remember this movie but looks quite good. Filmed in Salzburg, Austria and is a modern Heimatfilm about a hospital on the alps.
I think he only appeared in one other film of this series and assume few scenes of this boy and therefor few good Lederhosen scenes. Not sure if he is Austrian but probably.

I have to check this again. Rating 4-5 for now.

Schwarzwaldmädel (1950)

Heimatfilm starring Paul Hörbiger
-Year: 1950
-Year in film: 1950
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~ 5-12 ys,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: VHS only ?
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low
-Rating:  4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Some mostly younger boys in the background in traditional, I think most or all in buckskin Lederhosen. Also 2-3 older boy (2 scenes, the one pictured and one at a train). Few Lederhosen scenes, I think in total 4 scenes, no good view from close up. Also about 10 altar boys or choir boys in white clothing with red collars.

This was the first color Heimatfilm in Germany after WWII. Based upon the operetta by August Neidhardt. Starring Sonja Ziemann, Rudolf Prack and Gretel Schörg. Directed by Hans Deppe. English title: "The Black Forest Girl". Have only found a VHS release. And I think no clips on YouTube from this 1950 version.

Quite good and interesting movie and also lots of other traditional clothing. For the few Lederhosen scenes, rating 4 only.

Anastasia: The Mystery of Anna

TV drama starring Amy Irving, 2 Golden Globes
-Year: 1986
-Year in film: 1916  (sailor suit)
-Country: USA, Austria, Italy
-Who in clothing: Alexei ~ 12 ys, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium ?
-Rating:  7/10 ?
-Rating: *******
-Comment: British Christian Bale (pictured) as (12 yo ?) Prince Alexei (Tsarevich Alexis, 1904-1918) in as well blue and white short sailor suits (both with dark pants). Blue collars, 3 stripes.
I like Christian Bale (this was his first movie) especially in "Empire of the Sun".
I don't know this movie (also aired as mini series) about the Russian history yet and have to check it again.

Also starring Omar Sharif as Czar Nicholas II, Olivia de Havilland, Jan Niklas and Elke Sommer. Book by Peter Kurth. Running time 200 minutes.

Not sure about this movie and the amounts of sailor suit scenes, probably few or medium. Probably I won't buy it on DVD unless I know of perfect scenes. Rating 6-7 for now.
Correction: I think this scenes are set in 1916, not 1918.

For another movie with Alexei see Rasputin (1996), rating 6.

And here's a pic of the real Alexei, taken from Loc.gov

Wenn der weiße Flieder wieder blüht (1953)

Heimatfilm starring Romy Schneider
-Year: 1957
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: 3 boys ~ 7-10 ys,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: 3 boys in traditional buckskin Lederhosen with H-style suspender. Boy on bottom is called Herbert. The 2 boys on top come and go, sitting on the table in the background. Only this 2 short scenes, maybe some few others in the background.
Also staring one teen boy and 2 girls cycling, but I think not in Lederhosen.

This was maybe the 2nd best Heimatfilm of yesterdays marathon. And this is much worse than the 9 rating "Wer die Heimat liebt".

First movie of Romy Schneider, also starring Magda Schneider, Willy Fritsch, Götz George, Hertha Feiler and Paul Klinger. English title: "When the White Lilacs Bloom Again"
Movie is quite good also the few Lederhosen scenes. Rating 6.
More Heimatfilms to come. The 3 modern Heimatfilms had no Lederhosen scenes.

Achterbahn (1992)

Family TV series about kids+friendship, 69 episodes + 2 films
-Year: 1992-2002
-Year in film: 1993
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Micha ? ~ 7 ys,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: no, partly TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low ?
-Rating:  4/10 ?
-Rating: ****
-Comment: I'm not sure if this pic is from this series, but I think so. Probably Moritz Bode in ep. 22, (2.9) "Mittwochs um drei". I found few scenes on one of my VHS. One girl is called Jessica and that's the only episode I found with that name.

Might be nappa Lederhosen, 2 zippers.
I can't say much more about this as I don't have this completely and there are few infos on the web and no DVD release. It's possible that there are also other actors in Lederhosen in other episodes but it's rather unlikely.
I like smooth finish Lederhosen, but this boy is very young.
So rating 4 for now only.

Adam Had Four Sons

Romance starring Ingrid Bergman
-Year: 1941
-Year in film: 1905
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: boy ~ 7 ys,  sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2:  other boys, breeches
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium ?
-Rating:  6/10 ?
-Rating: ******
-Comment: The youngest son in a short white sailor suit. White collar, 3 stripes. I don't know his name yet. Also wearing a flat white sailor's cap. Brothers in similar clothing, but I don't think in sailor suits (not even the white suit) but in breeches or shorts and a shirt with a similar dark scarf.

Sorry if you don't like sailor suits or b&w movies. I planned this entry some weeks ago and still have to check the todays Heimatfilms. More Heimatfilms and Lederhosen films to come but I also want to add sailor suit films.

Also starring Warner Baxter, Susan Hayward, Fay Wray, June Lockhart ("Lassie") and Robert Shaw. Obviously not yet into Public Domain.

I don't know the complete movie. Rating 6 for now. Boy is quite young but I like white sailor suits and white collars. No trailers.

Info 47: Heimatfilm day

Heimatfilm day is still running. 3 more films, but modern Heimatfilms.  don't expect much there.
After that 3 movies are being rebroadcasted.

-Wenn der weiße Flieder wieder blüht (I think rating 5-6)
-Die Lindenwirtin vom Donaustrand (I think downgrading to rating 2)
-Schwarzwaldmädel (1st color Heimatfilm. rating 4-5)

Entries follows.

Wer die Heimat liebt (1957)

Heimatfilm starring Hermann Erhardt
-Year: 1957
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: David ~ 9 ys,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: VHS only
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: medium
-Rating:  9/10
-Rating: *********
-Comment: I think this is Georg Gröller. Mostly in long buckskin Lederhosen and in one scene in short Lederhosen in the middle of the movie (pictured). Both with suspenders.

As announced this was the first (and probably the best) Heimatfilm of the today 24 hour marathon on 3sat. Very good Hematfilm with typical elements like dramatic scenes in the snowy mountains, fire in the woods, good landscape and animal scenes. The blond boy is quite often shown, also 2 scenes in a nightshirt.
Funny scene at the beginning, as he was afraid to feed a baby deer. Best scenes at the end (picture on top), he also sits on the lap of his dad playing with his beard. Also walking in the snow in Lederhosen. I remember 2 short spanking scenes (slightly with a hand).

I like this film and even considered rating 10 but the boy is very thin and young. It could be better (more scenes of shorter Lederhosen, more actors etc). Even few men in Lederhosen. No Schuhplattler. I only found a VHS release (used condition). Film aka "Das heilige Erbe", English title "Holy Heritage". Filmed in 1956.

Info 46: Tomorrow Heimatfilm day on 3sat

Tomorrow on Dec 28 the complete day Heimatfilms on German channel 3sat.
Starting on 06.15 h "Wer die Heimat liebt"

This one looks very good. I try to watch and record as much as possible.
Also Heidi 1952 and 1955 and "Die Lindenwirtin vom Donaustrand" (I have this entry, but have to check this again completely).

Sissi (1955)

Drama starring Romy Schneider
-Year: 1955
-Year in film: 1850s
-Country: Austria
-Who in clothing: 3 boys ~ 8-10ys,  Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low
-Rating:  5/10
-Rating: *****
-Comment: 2 boys in dark brown longer buckskin Lederhosen and one boy in beige pants, not sure if Lederhosen as well. I think mainly at the beginning of the movie. 2 scenes, first I think 2 boys falling in a lake in Lederhosen and getting wet, and the 2nd scene is at a bowling alley (unpictured).
I don't like the rest of the movie (romance).

The 2nd Sissi movie "Sissi - Die junge Kaiserin" I missed most parts, but I don't assume good scenes there. The 3nd movie "Sissi - Schicksalsjahre einer Kaiserin" has lots of good other costume scenes, but I didn't noticed any kids in Lederhosen. Also no sailor suits/sailor dresses, maybe some few in the background.

Also starring Karlheinz Böhm, Gustav Knuth, Peter Weck and lots of others. I think I don't have to tell more about this movie.
For the few Lederhosen scenes and young kids, rating 5 only. (Originally I didn't expect Lederhosen at all).

Im weißen Rößl (1952)

Comedy film starring Johannes Heesters (R.I.P.)
-Year: 1952
-Year in film: 1930s??
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys, men, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: women, man, sailor suit
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating:  4/10
-Rating: ****
-Comment: Some younger boys in buckskin Lederhosen of different length. But only very few and short scenes of the kids. No really good view of the front except the one on bottom right. Some quite young men in Lederhosen also dancing Schuhplattler including Watschnplattler (slap) which is very good and shown from different angles also dancing with women.
One woman in a white sailor dress, blue collar, red scarf, one woman in a blue sailor dress (supporting actress from behind, also one in a red sailor dress or skirt, walking) and one man in a sailor suit. Also other interesting clothing like bathing costumes and musical groups in traditional clothing.

Movie is quite good, and there are some other versions. English title "The White Horse Inn". Also starring Johanna Matz, Walter Müller and 6 yo Christine Kaufmann (haven't noticed her).

For the few good Lederhosen scenes I can't rate higher than 4.
Because of the death of Johannes Heesters there will be also other films and Heimatfilms be aired the next days, I hope I can watch them all.

Info 45: Merry Christmas!

I wish all my blog readers and their friends and relatives a
Merry Christmas and a happy New Year (in advance).
I won't post during the next 3 Christmas days. I need some rest, but I try to find, watch and record as many of the movies with sailor suits and Lederhosen these days.

Coming next half hour is the obligatory "Little Lord Fauntleroy (1980)" starring Ricky Schroder (sailor suit, breeches), rebroadcasting tomorrow Dec 24. See that entry, rating 8, I will update that entry soon.
I don't know what good sailor suit or Lederhosen movies or shows there are to be aired at Christmas. Most chance for Lederhosen choirs or other shows are of course on Bayerischer Rundfunk (BR) or 3sat.

On Dec 24th there is "Christmas in Vienna" 21.50 on 3sat with the Vienna Boys Choir.
On Dec 25th there is "Weihnachten auf Gut Aiderbichl 2011" 19.55 on BR including St. Florianer Sängerknaben. But I doubt that there will be a Lederhosen performance, but who knows, but most likely in sailor suits.

Recently there had been aired Sissi (1955) with some young boys in Lederhosen (entry coming soon). There will be the sequels aired the next days.

Pics showing "Weihnachtssingen in Polling" (2008) on top with the Tölzer Knabenchor, see that entry, rating 7 and tagged choir; pic belowing showing "Die Trapp-Familie" including Michael Ande 2nd from left.

Another Christmas themed entry is The Waltons (previous entry, also on my other blog with more episodes and boys and girls in bib overalls).

If you can't see pics, please comment. There are some new problems this time with Picasa pics which can't be uploaded and used as usual.

Once again a happy and peaceful Christmas time!

Update: Few Lederhosen scenes at Christmas. Choirs of both shows in sailor suits only. One alpine Christmas show, but grown ups only. Little Lord Fauntleroy (1980) was again very good, but now confirming very few sailor suit scenes, but also other good clothing.

The Waltons

Family series, 9 seasons + films
-Year: 1972-1981
-Year in film: 1930s, 1940s
-Country: USA
-Who in clothing: Erin ~16 ys, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2: boys, girls, overalls
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, DVD
-Clothing occurence: medium
-Rating:  7/10 *
-Rating: *******
-Comment: Mary Beth McDonough as Erin in a blue sailor dress (pictured). Long blue skirt, no stockings, short collar, 3 stripes, white scarf. Also a boy in shorter pants (which I tagged breeches).
Pic is from double Christmas themed episode "The Children's Carol" S6-E11 (Germany: episode 12+13 "Traurige Weihnachtszeit"=sad Christmas Time, pic from ep. 13).
I wonder why I hadn't noticed that earlier. Maybe as I mostly watched the earlier seasons.

This is an unplanned entry, but I don't want to create this after Christmas.
My favourite bib overalls series (for more infos see my other blog, very first entry, rating 10, and separate entries of each season, except season 9 yet). I will also create today a special Waltons Christmas entry on my other blog (boys and girls in overalls). And later a non-Waltons Christmas entry here.

This episode is probably the best and most touching of the few Christmas episodes. Also starring a British girl and her dumb brother. Sadly that most people don't wear overalls at Christmas also not in the 1940s.
Season 6 (rating 9 for overalls) is quite good and the only season with mum Olivia in bibs, but I prefer earlier seasons.
I have to check the complete series for other sailor suit/dresses or similar clothing with collars or breeches, but this will take some time. I don't assume Lederhosen here.

Info 44: Reason for this blog

Thanks to Anonymous for your detailed questions and also for your compliments and suggestion.

Of course I respect your (and my) privacy and didn't publish your comment.
Concerning your main question: yes I know that, but somehow I don't like it. Sorry.

The question about my motive for creating this blogs might be interesting for others, so I answer it here. I think I already had told it on my other blog.

I just like (movies about) bib overalls, especially farm movies, family movies and series (like The Waltons) and I like rather children's, teen and family movies than films with grown-ups only like romances or action films.

I searched for other movies but there was no bib overalls database on the web. So I created one assuming that there might be others who also search for that. I have a weak memory and also use it by myself (if I have already seen a movie, or if I forget a name of an actor or what novel might be worth buying etc).

At some time I thought I had found most of the films with overalls, I thought about a new similar blog with clothing.
There are some similarities between overalls and Lederhosen which I also had talked about on my other blog. (suspenders, traditional and historical clothing, often associated with (innocent) kids etc). There are also similarities between sailor suits and Lederhosen and many films showing both.

Also interesting would be other fashion like shiny shorts, hairstyles, braces and else, but 2 blogs are enough work for now.

Unknown 4: Heimatfilm? 60s? Germany?

I found this single, unlabled pic on one of my assumed unreadable backup DVD-Rs of 2004.
So I can't say much more about it. Only sure thing is, that it had been aired on Dec 2004 or probably earlier on German ZDF. But that doesn't help much.

I searched all airing dates of Heimatfilms back to September. There were only some few, including "Das alte Försterhaus", "Peter schießt den Vogel ab" and "Die Zürcher Verlobung". But it doesn't fit to any of these, but not sure.
It could also be part of an TV series. Also not sure about the year of this movie. It also might be not the main character.

The stair-rail and the clothing of the women look quite old. At least 1960s or even 1900s. The colorful shirt of the boy looks more like the 1970s. The grey buckskin Lederhosen is also quite rare for the 1960s. So it could also be a modern film or series, or even an US production. But I assume a 1960s German or Austrian Heimatfilm. Though the boy and setting looks quite American. The old lady reminds me somehow of Tom Sawyer.

It's possible, that I even still have somewhere some scenes on one of my VHS (although I have checked them multiple times recently), but even if I had it, I probably don't have it completely and don't have noticed the title of it, othwerwise I had titled the image as well.
I checked and saw a lot of Heimatfilms recently and I do my best to identify this title.

If anyone knows the title or one of the actors, please comment.
Thanks anonymous. It's  Kindermädchen für Papa gesucht.

Info 43: Contacting

Someone wanted to contact me. Maybe this is also interesting for others.

As I don't have anonymous mail accounts I don't want to send mails to anonymous people, especially not if I don't know what they want.

It's possible to leave a comment and I won't publish it if not wanted.

I won't trade or upload complete movies. Most movies I also don't have completely. I'm also not interested in trading pics.
If you search for a movie online, please try a web search first. Most movies are or were online. If you can't find it, it probably doesn't exist and in most cases I can't help as I usually don't download complete movies and only search for pics for my blog.
But please comment, maybe I can help. Thanks.

Johnny and the Bomb

BBC fantasy series, 3 episodes
-Year: 2006
-Year in film: 1970s ?
-Country: UK
-Who in clothing: boy Yo-Less? ~14 ys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: boy pants suspenders, girl bibs
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium ??
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: One teen boy in rare medium brown longer (lenght as shown) smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen with H-style suspenders (pictured), I think this must be Lucien Laviscount as Indian "Yo-Less". Also at least one other teen boy in similar looking long pants with suspenders (not H-style) and probably not Lederhosen. Look all more like costumes, perhaps it's supposed to be. Also a teen girl in blue bib overalls (see my other blog, also rating 6).

Weird fantasy series including time travel to 1941 and soldiers of WWII, novel trilogy by Terry Pratchett. I don't know/don't remember this complete series.

For more infos, pics and trailer, see my overalls blog. Rating 6 for this interesting and weird Lederhosen. But I think I wouldn't like this series.

Einfach Blumen aufs Dach

Comedy film

-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium ??
-Rating:  3/10

-Comment: At least one young boy in buckskin Lederhosen. Not sure about his name, maybe Lars Jung as Uwe. And some others in shorts, maybe Lederhosen as well (see clip). No suspenders. Also some sailors in white sailor suits (pic below).

Sorry, I don't know this complete movie yet, however the boy is also very young. Might be a funny and entertaining family movie.
Directed by Roland Oehme ("Ein irrer Duft von frischem Heu", see also that entry on my overalls blog).

Also starring Martin Trettau, Barbara Dittus, Carl Heinz Choynski and others. 91 minutes. Available on DVD. But I won't buy it. I check this again the next TV broadcasting. Rating 3 for now.

Volny chernogo morya

Drama TV series, 8 episodes ?
-Year: 1976
-Year in film: 1905 ??
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing: boy, girl ~11 ys, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: other boys, girls, sailor suit
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating:  7/10
-Rating: *******
-Comment: A boy and a girl in short white sailor suits, white collars, 2 stripes and other younger kids (pictured, I hope that this is from the same episode, must be all from ep. 4).

I don't know all episodes, but this looks very good. I think this is a sequel to
"Beleet parus odinokiy" (1937), see also one entry earlier, b&w, rating 6. At least similar with 2 boys (one called Pavlik) as main characters (one without sailor suits).

Russian title "Волны Черного моря", filmed 1975, released on 2 DVDs.
I still have to check the other episodes. Skinny dipping in the sea in episode 1. Rating 7 for now.

Beleet parus odinokiy

Adventure film
-Year: 1937
-Year in film: 1905
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing: boy ~12 ys, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: girl ~ 8 sailor dress
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: often ?
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: At least one boy in as well both very short medium dark (medium blue) and white sailor suits. Collar with 3 thin stripes and one thick stripe, and 2 stripes. Dickey also with many stripes. The girl has a white collar.

I first thought according to the DVD cover, that this is a color movie. There is also a (probably) related 1975/1976 color TV series called
"Volny chernogo morya", wich is also very good (coming soon), maybe based on the same book.

Novel by Valentin Katayev. I don't understand Russian, so I can't say much about it, but this look very good. Russian title "Белеет парус одинокий", English title "The Lonely White Sail". I checked only some parts, and have to check again completely. Rating 5-6 for now.

Die Drei von der Tankstelle (1955)

Comedy film starring Walter Giller
-Year: 1955
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: 2 boys ~12 ys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2: girl Lederhosen
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: I noticed only 2 boys at a funfair, one in black smooth finish or nappa Lederhosen, one in brown patina or also smooth finish Lederhosen. Also a girl who might wear buckskin Lederhosen. I don't know their names, probably uncredited.
Some women in blue sailor dresses (pic below) light blue collars, 2 stripes. They undress her blouses and collars while dancing. And the 3 men main characters including Giller (R.I.P.) in medium blue coveralls at the gas station. Very short and few Lederhosen scenes, but I like them, so rating 6.

Also starring Adrian Hoven, Walter Müller, Wily Fritsch and others. Quite funny movie but could be better. Interesting also the vintage fun fair attractions and vehicles.
Remake of the 1930 musical "Three from the Gasoline Station" aka "Three Good Friends".
For another interesting period movie starring Walter Giller see "Die Feuerzangenbowle (1970)".

Kapitan 'Piligrima'

Adventure film, novel: Jules Verne
-Year: 1988
-Year in film: 1874
-Country: Soviet Union
-Who in clothing: boys ~10+15 ys, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: men, sailor suits
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: low *
-Rating:  6/10
-Rating: ******
-Comment: Vyacheslav Khodchenko as 15 yo captain Dick Sand (pic below) in a sailor jacket, blue collar, 3 stripes and a younger boy in different sailor suits. A white sailor suit (dark brown ? long pants) medium blue collar, 2 stripes. Scene at 21 minutes, he sleeps in that clothes. Later also other suits and completely white collar. I think most without dickies. Also scarf and string ties.
Also some sailors with pointed medium blue collars or scarfs (no stripes) and some other sailors in short dark blue collars, 2 stripes. But all rather short scenes.

Originally I searched for Russian movies with boys in Lederhosen, but only found some good movies with sailor suits and some with bib overalls (see my other blog). The novel is called: Dick Sand: A Captain at Fifteen. Original movie title "Капитан «Пилигрима»" filmed in 1986. Most of this movie is set on a ship. The later scenes look more like a Western.

The movie is a remake of Pyatnadtsatiletniy kapitan (1946).
Rating 6 due to few good sailor suit scenes. More Russian movies (boys/women) to come.

Wenn wir alle Engel wären (1956)

Comedy film starring Marianne Koch
-Year: 1956
-Year in film: 1950s
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: boys ~9-16 ys, Lederhosen
-Who in clothing 2:
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: very low
-Rating:  3/10
-Rating: ***
-Comment: Some young boys in buckskin Lederhosen without suspenders at the beginning of the movie. Also 2 boys cycling (brief scene, blurred as in motion). The second short scene after that showing some boys sitting (probably also some in Lederhosen) and one or two older boys standing, I think one might be a teen boy, but also shown from behind.

Novel by Heinrich Spoerl, film starring Dieter Borsche, Edith Hanke, Gustav Knuth and others. Internation title: If We All Were Angels.
I don't like this movie/romance. Some good landscape shots of the Rhine region (Mosel) but this is not a Heimatfilm.

Remake of the 1936 film starring Heinz Rühmann.
For the few scenes rating 3-4 only. No DVD/VHS release, no clips.

Der Czardas-König

Biography Emmerich Kalman
-Year: 1958
-Year in film: ~1900
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: Emmerich ~9 ys, sailor suit
-Who in clothing 2: 3 boys, 2 girls, sailor suit
-Available on DVD: no
-I own: yes, TV recording
-Clothing occurence: low
-Rating:  7/10
-Rating: *******
-Comment: Young Emmerich in long white sailor suit, blue collar, 3 stripes, 3 other boys in sailor suits, ~2x 8 ys one in striped light blue sailor suit, blue collar, one in rare brown collar and one boy ~5 ys in a white sailor suit (pic bottom left in the middle). Also 2 young girls in sailor dresses. 2 long scenes at the beginning of the movie, also outside with Gypsies and at a lake. In total 7 minutes. The rest of the movie Emmerich is grown up (15 years later). At the end of the film one toddler in short white sailor suit on the arm of his mother.

Some good scenes and different sailor suits and other historical clothing.
Though young kids and rather short scenes. But I like it (originally thought of rating 9 or even 10). The rest of the movie is quite boring, a lot of music and dancing (I watched it at high speed).

Starring Gerhard Riedman as the grown up Hungarian composer Emmerich, Rudolf Schock and others. Other titles are "Der Csárdáskönig", Der Csardas-König, The Csardas Princess, Die Emmerich-Kalman-Story.

Die Feuerzangenbowle (1970)

Comedy film starring Walter Giller R.I.P.
-Year: 1970
-Year in film: ~1900
-Country: Germany
-Who in clothing: teen girl, sailor dress
-Who in clothing 2: others in historical clothing
-Available on DVD: yes
-I own: no
-Clothing occurence: medium ?
-Rating:  5/10 ?
-Rating: *****
-Comment: At least a young woman/teen girl in a white sailor dress, white collar, 2 stripes (pictured, I don't know her name yet) and a lot of others in historical clothing. One young boy in shorts (right pic on left), but probably not Lederhosen. I think also other kids, at least a young girl in a sailor dress.

Sorry, I don't know/don't remember this remake and hope for a soon broadcasting.
For the much more famous original b/w version (1944) starring Heinz Rühmann (with a short scene of a boy in sailor suit and 2 women in sailor dresses, rating 3, due to short scenes, see that entry).

Starring Walter Giller (R.I.P.), Uschi Glas, Theo Lingen, Nadja Tiller and others.
Some scenes and clothing looks more like the 1970s. There's a trailer on YouTube from the production company which I don't want to link.
Rating 5-6 for now. Novel by Heinrich Spoerl, international title "The Fire Tongue Bowl".
